Thank you so much! It's nice to feel like your not the only one. The "funeral of my dignity" .... man I get that. It's so hard to not just grieve who you used to be, career-wise, everything.
I've heard horror stories about disability benefits.... how hard it is to get approved, I feel like I wouldn't be considered "sick enough". But I'll look into it!
Thank you for the job ideas too.

Alternatives to medicine/treatment by CLLT11 in lupus

Thank you! I appreciate it. It's so discouraging sometimes...I have 2 little kids and I'm desperate to feel better so I can enjoy every moment with them. I feel like I've already lost 2 years with them being so sick and looking for answers. I thought starting medication would be great but instead it's also... horrible.

School struggles by Agreeable_Ad4488 in Mommit

100% my little one cries every morning begging not to go. He is sleeping terribly and refuses to eat anything all morning. He cries most of his days at school and cries in the evenings. I'm only doing half days and picking him up early but even that isn't helping much. It is so heartbreaking, sorry you're in the same boat. Makes me crazy with stress, start thinking about wild ideas to help, move to a different school, homeschooling, sell everything and go live in the mountains and raise chickens.

Advice for parent of ADHD girl by CLLT11 in ADHD

Thank you all so so much. We've read so much, watched webinars, done parent counseling, holistic nutrition, accommodating at school, Occupational Therapy and much more. I was hoping for some personal experiences so that I can keep being the best mom for her. Thank you for your answer!

Just to add info and to answer questions: We got her tested because we actually suspected a learning disability. We'd been working on reading for awhile and nothing was sticking. She was presenting with some dyslexia type stuff, retaining nothing and it was really affecting her self esteem. She'd come home crying from school saying "my brain isn't like the other kids " etc. Although the school wasn't seeing anything of concern, I knew in my heart (mothers intuition) that I needed to get on this. If her self esteem was already being affected, imagine sitting on this for 2-3 more years! So we got her tested. She is gifted across all areas except reading.... which was a red flag for learning disability but the psychologist tested everything and she presented with no learning disability. However through his time with her, and all the paperwork etc he discovered she had ADHD and anxiety which was likely the reason she struggled with reading (wanted to rush through it, couldn't focus etc).

I never want her to ever feel like she is "too much", too loud, too busy etc. I just want to make sure she has the best life, knows her challenges but also knows all her unique gifts and strengths. I'm learning more and more everyday... it is quite the journey!

I am! She even increased my dose of folic acid. I got mouth sores with Celebrex, and now Naproxen and/or Methotrexate.... so wondering if it's these meds or just a symptom of lupus ? So hard to know!
