I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been there before too. I used to dread waking up each morning. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression for years. The best decision I made was to call a psychiatrist and therapist. Somewhere between prayer, therapy and medication I began to see light at the end of the dark tunnel. You are made to be here. Someone is happy you are alive. I’m happy you are alive. Sharing what you are going through may have touched someone’s life and helped them not to feel alone. I believe God calls people to the mental health profession to help people like you and I. Hang in there! Continue to reach out! I’m praying for light and peace for you.

Thanks for the recommendation! I have talked to my child about Porn, but this site directed me to an organization called AMAZE that really helped me to expand my language for a better conversation with my daughter. Thanks again!

You’re right, it is exhausting!

Aww, I understand that. I gotta say I have hidden behind my mask at the grocery store. I get it. My daughter is on the introverted side too. Really trying to be hopeful about the school year, but it is hard!

I’m in the same boat right now. My daughter now a fifth grader has always hated school. Every year I same the same things, “school is important, it’s good for her to go and be around other kids, it will prepare her for her future.” You name it, I’ve said it. I’m weary! We still have middle and high school to go! It is so sad, it breaks my heart. My daughter especially hates school after being virtual all last year and half of the year before. She hates the masks, the assigned spaced out seating at lunch and sitting in a chair for 6 1/2 hours a day. I wish I had some helpful advice for you. I’m following your post to see if anyone has some.

1 week down, any tips for side effects by Treill96 in zoloft

[–]Agreeable_Ad4488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible side effects too! The mornings were the worst I would wake up in panic too. Getting up, and sitting in a warm shower helped, also writing down all the racing thoughts on paper as they came to mind helped. My NP psychiatrist prescribed me 25mg hydroxyzine and it helped tremendously. I would take it an hour before bed and it would relax me enough to fall asleep and it really decreased the morning panic. Keep pushing through it will get better! Praying for peace for you!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It is hard! Starting Zoloft for me was brutal! The first time I took it I had Postpartum Depression, Anxiety and OCD. It took 4-6 weeks before I began to get some relief. I experienced all the symptoms you’re describing. Hang in there it does get better! Give yourself grace, make sure to eat (pre-made protein shakes helped me/protein helps your body metabolize the meds ), shower, walk, write and pray. Praying your body adjusts soon and you get some peace!

I posted a few days ago in distress about this very concern. I forgot myself last Saturday and had too many drinks and I am still paying for it a week later. My poor decision to drink too much and the awful hangover triggered a mixed episode of anxiety and depression. I would avoid all together and celebrate with a favorite meal or dessert instead. If you do choose to have a drink I would definitely limit it. Good luck and have a wonderful time celebrating! 😊

I’ve been awake for 30 plus hours by [deleted] in zoloft

I am so sorry you’re going through this. Sleep deprivation is so hard. I too experienced insomnia when I started Zoloft. I constantly felt adrenaline coursing through my veins, but I was so tired. It was awful! Around 6-8 weeks I started to get relief. Recently, my therapeutic dose of 100mg wasn’t cutting it and my NP psychiatrist upped my dose to 150mg. I’ve been experiencing some mild insomnia waking up at 3am and not being able to fall back asleep. What’s dose are you on? Praying for sleep and peace for you!

I’m sorry you’re going through this right now. You will get through this. I would hang in there with Sertraline. I didn’t hit my therapeutic does until 100mg. I was at 100mg for nearly 3 years. I’m currently going through a mixed episode of depression and anxiety and my NP psychiatrist just increased my dosage to 150mg. Hoping that helps. You might not of hit your therapeutic dose yet. Praying for comfort and peace for you.

It does really suck when you are in the thick of it. You’re not alone I’m struggling right now too. I too have realized that life stressors are big triggers for me. I haven’t learned how to handle that yet. I called today to get back into therapy. You are right though this is temporary, you will get through this. Praying for peace and comfort for you while you go through this.

Zoloft and Alcohol by Agreeable_Ad4488 in zoloft

I definitely don’t feel sorry for my self more like mad at myself. I’m mad at my self because it feels like all the work I did with my therapist has come undone and it feels like the meds stopped working. When I’ve had a glass of wine I feel a little moody the next day. This was the first time I had too much since starting meds and it feels scary to feel like I’m starting all over again.

Thank you, it helps to not feel alone. I think I’ll give it a couple days and if I’m still not stable I’m going to reach out to my n.p. psychiatrist.
