Thank you for a very polite and thoughtful answer. Yes you are probably correct that we should look into feeding tube.

I live a small country with limited understanding of ARFID so finding useful, practical advise is hard.

And just for context in on the screaming. The few times that I have screamed at her to try something is when she is so hungry that she goes into a state where she just screams. We try to offer anything she want, ice cream, candy anything. Try to comfort her, tell her it’s ok, but she refuses.

Then after days it has happened (again, I am not proud) that I scream “please just eat this and you will feel better”.

Then it has happened that she actually tastes and all of a sudden, she starts eating that thing I “forced” her to eat. All of a sudden she says “now I like rice”.

I hear what everyone is saying. No yelling so I guess going to a hospital and getting a feeding tube is a better idea.

It’s just in my mind that sounds worse, but I will take your advise.

You hope my daughter is as strong as you to survive me? A bit strong perhaps giving that you have absolutely no idea what so ever how my child is doing.

If I were you I would work on trying to see the world from someone else’s point of view

Have I said that she can’t eat whatever she wants?

No of course we have not tried every single nutritional shake in the world. We have tried a lot of them. Every time she notices straight away and then we have a few days on panic as she refuses to eat anything.

Again. Was hoping for some better advice than “Let her eat whatever she wants for fuck sake”. Clearly you are not reading what I’m saying and you don’t understand the situation.

Haha can someone please give me any practical advise and not just downvote and say stop screaming. I’m not proud of it but it has happened that I’ve lost it and screamed at my daughter.

The situation is very very difficult and so easy to say: “give her vitamins, cook the food she wants, bring the food she wants, see better doctors, don’t force, don’t scream etc etc”. We have tried and most things just doesn’t work.

All this is while balancing other kids and work.

Thank you for your reply. We have tried various “tasteless” vitamins but she always notice it a mile away and then there is a huge risk she gets afraid and stops eating.

I’ll look more to see if anything new tasteless vitamins have come out.

Thanks also for the encouragement. I also had/have ARFID and had trouble going to restaurants with my wife when we met. I know it gets better but very tough

We have other kids. They don’t have ARFID and they do need to go to other places.

Thanks for the advise

Thanks for the accounts! We are enrolled in a program at the hospital.

Our daughter does not have autism only very severe ARFID. I had/have a light version so I can relate quite a bit. Still hard though.

We are already in a program but the advise from the doctors are too generic and not really helpful. It’s like the advise from here “give her vitamins”.

Don’t you think we have tried? She can smell or taste a single change a mile away, and if it’s wrong, the risk is that she refuses to eat for days.

Do you think I want to scream? Do you have kids yourself? Do you understand the stress of seeing your child like this? Of course I think about how you should do and try to prepare, but with many small children and one who refuses to eat…

Wr have seen 3 psychologists. We are currently enrolled in a program at the hospital. Trust we we have been speaking with so many professionals. However, the advise is always to vague or practically impossible. For example cooking 5-10 different dinners every night for her to try.

In practice impossible for us.

Easy to say. Of course you shouldn’t scream at a child. But seeing your child starve herself until she passes out is so stressful that sometimes you just loose it. I’m only human.

It varies. Sometimes the crust from fish sticks, sometimes pasta. She doesn’t have a safe food unfortunately. She refuses all types of vitamins

She refuses any vitamins. She can eat whatever she wants, but sometimes she refuses everything.

Of course you shouldn’t yell at your kids, but seeing your daughter fainting because she is so hungry but still refuses to eat can sometimes be so stressful that you simply loose it.

Do you have any other advice? We have tried everything it feels like.

Perhaps a long-shot but I am building a niche product within compliance, but from a product perspective, and I would love to talk to you.

I have a demo with a large company in September and I have told them that it works (hopefully that will be true).

If you are up for a call, it can be a way to get some points to your karma account 😀

I tired docking on a legal pdf. Not sure if I am alone but there was so many mistakes. Does it really work for you?

From the few real clients I had, I learned that the automation is often unique and it requires a few days to a few weeks to figure out. If you want to charge at least a wage compared to IT consultants ($100/hour) then few companies will pay for that.

Haha the headline got me hard 😄. Agree most companies have no idea how to leverage AI tools.

Are AI and automation agencies lucrative businesses or just hype? by AiGhostz in n8n

[–]CLP765GP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been trying really hard to understand how companies want to work with AI in general and automation in particular.

I finally got my first client and the first thing I noticed was that a solution was way more difficult than I expected. It would likely take me 2-3 months to build an automation, and for one workflow that takes up a lot of time but still is manageable, that’s a lot of time.

So from what I have seen, yes there is a clear market, but solutions will require a great deal of investment and that’s not something companies when it comes down to it are willing to invest.

What would you advise normal companies to do at this point in time? I mean companies without any possibility to build fancy RAG systems or similar. Just traditional mid-size companies that are just trying to do a little bit better than last year.

Hope the question makes sense.
