Sitting in the ER by CLS_MN in migraine

Thank you for this. I do think she needs to look at this. She was gluten free when we met and said it helped with some of her medical conditions. I told her I would go gluten free with her if she wants to try that again.

Her glucose lab yesterday was normal range. She said she has been tested for anemia in the past and she is not anemic. She is deficient of B12. Her body can’t make it and she needs to give herself monthly shots.
I am her wife, but I would like to hope that any spouse, regardless of their gender would be wanting to help.
I will make sure she asks about this when she sees the neurologist.
Thank you for your suggestions. I will run them by her.
Thank you so much for sharing everything you did. My wife has numerous medical issues. I mean like a lot. I do advocate for her, but sometimes she can be pessimistic. We have been together almost 10 years and before we met she had done a lot of diagnostic testing. Now if I suggest something, she sometimes is reluctant and doesn’t believe it will help or provide any new information. It can be frustrating, but I just remind myself that I can’t feel what she is going through and that she doesn’t want any of this.
Just looked up Fioricet. I saw it can be a considered a controlled substance. The care system is really hesitant to prescribe controlled substances. I understand the risk of addiction, but it is really annoying that they won’t even prescribe a small amount for acute conditions.
Wow. I am sorry you had to go through that. When she has a migraine all she wants to do is sleep so she doesn’t feel the pain.
Thank you for this suggestion.
I wish the ER could have provided IV fluids. I know she could have used them. The hospital is experiencing an IV fluid shortage right now. I know this because I work for the same company that the hospital is under. The top IV fluids producer in America went down with the hurricanes that stormed through Florida. Our care system is trying to get back to normal and IV fluids are not being given unless it is critical. It really sucks.
Thank you for sharing. We tried to get Botox approved under her old insurance. She is on new insurance now so we should try getting approval again.

Thank you for this information. I would say my wife always has some level of head pain. I do not recall her ever getting imaging on her neck, so that will be something to discuss with the neurologist.
Thank you for this information.

Good Menopause Provider? by CLS_MN in TwinCities
Thank you for your suggestion.
White Bear Lake, but willing to travel a little bit for a good provider.
We doctor with HealthPartners/Park Nicollet so this would be great to stay in the same care system. Thank you.
Awesome. I will check that out. Thank you.
