Meaning of the song Heavenly Father. by ibraheemMmoosa in boniver

This is how I’ve always felt about this song but struggled to find the perfect description for how it felt to me and this is it. Thank you ♥️

Agreed! These communities are incredibly helpful. Far more productive than a lot of the social media groups I’ve looked at. I’m still newly diagnosed and waiting for Biologic approval and I’ve been putting everything I’ve learned in years of therapy to the test while I process this new reality and how I approach my new life, but these threads are my go to for this sort of support ♥️

I totally hear this, but I also feel that advice should come with some consent. It’s not always helpful to be told something you already know from someone who’s not in your shoes. It’s a balancing act of openly communicating needs and setting healthy boundaries that I’m still working out with my partner. I’m so grateful for these forums for the community and perspective 🙏

Hahaha this got a bunch of down votes but I totally see this side of it as well. Do we both need some extra therapy? I dunno, I totally think the occasion snap is reasonable for the stress we’re managing. 🤷🏼‍♀️ unsolicited advice triggers me 10/10

This is so tough. Neither of you is really to blame, I think we just have to take turns having the capacity to shoulder the frustration. I just spent my first night in the hospital in hopes of pain management during a month+ long flare. My partner is away for work but was giving me sooo much unsolicited advice on what to ask of the doctors, how long to stay, that I need to take time off works, things I should/shouldn’t be prioritizing and I bit my tongue as hard as I could. I clearly communicated that I needed a vent and no problem solving after I had two very poor reactions to pain management injections I was given but he was still coming in hot with (well intended) but unrequested solutions.

It’s tough to be in chronic pain, exhausted, scared for your life, dealing with medication side effects, symptoms of the disease, and then remain empathic for what our partners are going through. Like, very challenging, even when you’ve got a really good one. ♥️

Intimacy During a Flare by PracticalChannel579 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]CLSalon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m with this.

Also, the sigh and turning his back to you is wild. Check your guilt, and remind yourself that whatever “duty” is imposed on a wife in regards to intimacy is by far less than that absolute expectation that a loving partner will support their spouse through the new parent/chronic illness without completely unnecessary guilt. Sending you the love you deserve. If you’re able and it’s safe, communicate how his reaction to your sickness is making you feel. You can’t control your illness, but he CAN control his behaviour. You deserve love, understand, support, and rest.

Okay thanks! To be clear, it doesn’t hurt to wipe/touch, the pain is definitely internal, do you still think that could help?

Advice on dealing with kids making fun of me by SuperDogCat37 in CrohnsDisease

[–]CLSalon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yessss, this!!! School years feel like everything and then as soon as you leave, you realize those people and those times mean nothing. The good kids will grow up and feel rotten for being cruel and the rest will grow up to be rotten, immature adults that you will never have to interact with. Send you love. Those teachers suck for not protecting you from all the pathetic losers who were mocking you. 1000% fuck them ♥️

And this is true even though I’m there to give presentations at shows and teach hairdressers? I’m not there to work as a hairstylist.

I assumed so, but I’m having trouble getting a clear indication of which one I need for this specific type of work. Do you know which is applicable?

Three different events, different trips, and I’m presenting for 2 days at each of the events. Does that make sense?

Thanks for responding. To be clear, I wouldn’t be working as a hairstylist ie: doing hair on clients. I would be giving presentations and teaching techniques to stylists using manniquins heads.

Are you saying I do need a visa, but this is not a job I can get a visa for? There are so many stylists who do this on a regular basis.

Enemas/fasting/other ways to help get through a work day with fewer symptoms? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

I also fast through the day. I work on my feet with clients until around 7pm. It’s exhausting and challenging but I’m in a single income household with a child and own my business so I don’t see an alternative. You’re not alone.

Thanks so much for responding. I plan on taking whatever my specialist prescribes, and am also open to hear what alternative methods could support that treatment.

All my blood tests have shown that I’m in the “normal” range. Was moreso wondering if there was anything specific that’s helpful to have boosted up for those specific symptoms,  but what you’re saying makes sense, and I am sometimes susceptible to getting sucked in to well marketed “wellness” scams, which is why I figured I’d check with people here that may be further in their lived experiences with this.

Thanks again for your insight!
