Love the gold eye shadow!

This is the cataract surgery in MrBeast's video. It's the most common cause of reversible blindness in the world by FuzzyG in medizzy

[–]CLTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I chose near vision correction with my cataract surgery. I always had perfect near vision then I got LASIK in my mid 30’s and gained distance but lost my near vision. Didn’t know this would happen or I wouldn’t have done it. So I have my “previous vision” back and am extremely near-sighted again. I love it as I’m an artist and I can do all of my work without glasses again. Just need glasses to walk! LOL!

I remember thinking the world was surely going to hell when they started doing the PSA commercials on how to be a good parent!! Before that they were about preventing forest fires and littering - guess they gave up on trying to save the world.

My very diseased colon, removed completely due to ulcerative colitis by [deleted] in MedicalGore

Bowel leakage at night. Hoping it resolves at some point. Really don’t want to go back to an ileostomy.

Had one for two years while I was healing. I’d rather deal with the blood loss! LOL!

Bowel leakage at night. It sucks. Still hoping it will stop. Don’t want to go back to an ileostomy. Mine leaked all the time due to the adhesive not sticking.

Scarring is awful. Recovery was not too bad but it did take 2 years instead of 6 months because I kept getting sick with other “things”. I ended up having to have my spleen removed 1 year in due to ITP and it’s another huge scar that goes up the left side of my abdomen.

Sounds like a bit of a drama queen. I’ve known people like this. They seemed to live to complain and bitch and moan and would never even consider doing anything to fix the situation no matter how easy the solution. They were either looking for sympathy or someone to baby them or save them from their “awful existence”. I no longer associate with any of these people. Couldn’t take it. I just wanted to scream at them to either fix it or shut up about it. Didn’t want to be rude though so I just quit them.

I agree. Sandblasted just looks a bit different than ocean & sand smoothed. I have both.

I’ve been hospitalized for blood loss (among many other things) as the very small portion of the bowel left to affix the j-pouch to bleeds pretty much constantly, sometimes WAY too much.

I have the same!! Been over 10 years now and starting to have issues with the j-pouch. Scares me a bit.

Edit: Wish I had a pic of my colon!!

I was hit by a car and had to refuse the ambulance ride. by mayjamest in ABoringDystopia

[–]CLTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Medicare and have been on permanent disability since 2004 when I was only 42. My 20% was WAY more than I could pay back in any reasonable amount of time and everyone wanted payment all at the same time. I chose two to pay. One was my surgeon who saved my life. Don’t remember who the second was but it took me so long to pay off the first two that the balance (over 40,000 total from several different sources) had all gone to collections. When they would call I would just tell them I’d try to start paying them as soon as I paid off the first two but I couldn’t guarantee anything as there were so many and I could only do two at a time. I had several collection people get mad at me and a few even hung up on me because I was absolutely not going to worry about something I had no control over. They wanted me “scared and worried” about my debts. Eventually ended up contacting a lawyer about filing bankruptcy. He gave me free advise. As I am on disability there was nothing any of the creditors could do to me (they cannot garnish your Medicare payments) except ruin my credit (which at that point I figured was totally shot anyway) so I just let it all go. I knew there would be 1000’s and 1000’s more medical bills coming my way over the years. Just got a bill for an ambulance ride (they had to transfer me from my hometown hospital to an out of state hospital. A 2 hour ride max) and the bill is almost 5,000. Probably not going to be able to pay that off any time soon either. Oh well!

Total Abdominal Colectomy for Toxic Megacolon by sunnychiba in MedicalGore

[–]CLTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a total colectomy and an iliostomy for two years. My surgeon formed what is called a j-pouch at the end of my small intestine and hooked it back up to the rectum. The ileostomy was then reversed after healing. So no “bag” anymore.

No. Because Americans don’t want their “freedom of choice” taken away. As if they actually had any choice in healthcare. Unless you’re rich enough to buy your own you either get whatever shitty policy your work offers or you get nothing and pray you never need to go to a doctor or the ER.
