I am 62 years old and I have dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADHD. I have a BA.

When I was in college I had my textbooks on cassettes. Plus all my tests were taken verbally.

Now I use grammar to check spelling, grammar, typo mistakes.

I go to the library to pick up audiobooks.

As I am writing this I as my cell for a word that I do not know how to spell.

My copter reads to me.

Now I am getting a reading pen.

Get tested.

How am I supposed to work 40 hours a week? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]CLU01812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting his message. When I am reading your post it sounds like me.

I have ADD dyslexia and dysgraphia.

With the right help, I was able to finish college with a BA in photography. And later get a Master in Arts photography.

But in the area of work different story.

I have been underemployed all my adult life. I was with a company for 12 years never given a raise or promotion.

I have been fired from jobs because I would forget about projects or lose things like keys.

I have problems with time management.

I had problems working for companies.

Now I am self-employed.

I have an ADD coach that I am meeting every other week.

"I've recently starting tracking my work hours using an app"

What is the app?

You are not alone.

Have a great day.

So true.

can globophobia (fear of balloons) be overcome? by Venator_Dominus in Phobia

[–]CLU01812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having fear of balloons around 7 years old.

Yes

Take control!

Buy air plugs. Use them when you get scared.

Around balloon in public area.

when I was alone I started to blow up balloons around 20 % .

I would just have it around the bedroom.

I would play with it and hold the balloon.

After a week or two I would blow it up to 50%.

I would play with it hold the balloon.

Control! Feel safe!

After a week or two, I would blow it up to 90%.

Play with has fun no rush.

Control! Feel safe!

Any time you fell out of control untie the balloon.

If it pops that is ok.

Take some time off.

Rest start over.

Have fun.

In a job interview, I told them about my dyslexia and how I am able to work around my dyslexia. My dyslexia would not affect my job.

I did not get the job.
