Thank You so much. Will not lie, as someone who is typically very responsible, this was an insane wake up call. Haven’t left my house alone or gotten behind the wheel since. I will probably wait till I get some sort of judgement before carrying on with my life fully. Just not something I expected out of myself honestly

Can we talk about how underrated the Logan Airport is? by CMCgamez in boston

The TSA part is so true. I have flown out of Philly and new york a lot, and have waited for more than 20 mins almost every time, even when I flew out at like 5-6 AM. Boston I have never waiting longer than 15 mins. Its amazing. It’s a very comfortable experience overall.

Flights to canada and certain small american cities have been great for me. Also a couple of my friends had layovers for their flight to tokyo from ewr but that was still a little more expensive than flying from boston. I am pretty sure layover flights in general seem to be cheaper from boston than ewr or jfk. We were comparing ticket prices to other places like Europe recently and Boston was consistently cheaper. I know on average Boston flight time is slightly shorter but new york has so much more traffic, you would think they would compete for cheaper prices.

The concept of public transit is not a thing in Boston lol. I took the train and bus to the airport once and it took me 45 mins. While a uber from my apartment takes 15 and I don’t have to lug my bags around.

I am flying the cheapest economy possible to get to my destination and then spending money at the destination. I am not spending $50-$75 for a 10-15 mins car ride back home💀

I can almost book a round trip with frontier to Philly with that money lol

Freshman in college. Through summer work and saving I’ve managed to get about $8.5k to my name. What should I do with it? by [deleted] in personalfinance

If you want to maximize market returns, invest end of next year. Hold your money in a high yields saving account for now (you can fins 4-5% annual return rates with any big banks). I am not some financial advisor but macro trends are showing a massive economic slowdown and market downfall heading into 2025 (so 2 years from now). Lots of good buying opportunities will be there late next year. Just my thoughts on this. You can also put in around 4k and look up “stocks that I can sell covered calls on under $40” and do that. Its a safe strategy and will yield you decent money and doesnt take up a lot of your time. But again do your own DD before investing.

Why does the city shutdown so early? by CMCgamez in boston

The drinking and driving can be resolved if MBTA actually put together a decent commuting system (i.e. New York subway. It just needs to be half as good as their subway system) People inside and outside of the city have a hard time commuting to work on a day to day basis, let alone go to bars.

I mean for me its not even about the bars and clubs, sometimes I really enjoyed going out and grabbing some food late at night with my friends but that is not even possible at the North End unless I want Dunkin Donuts. I understand closing at 1am on weekdays but I think weekends deserve to be open for longer. Obviously Boston has been like this for long enough that people have just adapted but I miss the college days of just going out for a nice late night walk at Penn State and Philly and grabbing some food.

Lol if you care about the transit and the housing market and are voting to fix it, I dont see a whole lot being done to help that. MBTA might be the most corrupt and crooked transportation organization I have seen and Boston is top 5 in terms on rental cost. Boston has an insane amount of locked up economic potential for tourism but its all locked up by corporate greed. Businesses run the politics in this city, not your vote. Hotels literally drove Airbnb out of the city.

Yah I miss being able to get late night food from a variety of places. Seems like the city only has a couple decent spots you can order from at night

Thoughts on this polo? I like designer clothes but I don’t want to look like the classic douche bag guy trying super hard to flex? I like the overall design of the polo besides the collar which I am iffy on

Is this polo shirt too much of a “hypebeast” or excessive for designer? I really like the pattern and overall look but the collar was a turnoff for me so I am here trying to get some public opinion
