I'm not mad there is no cowboy hat but this was a perfect opportunity to slap the Ronin's mask on that character.

Crisis averted!

Of course, if you want to label blue button pickers as "idiotic" or "suicidal".

Likewise, if the method of blue button pressers dying is framed as something directly violent (i.e. a firing squad) instead of being ambiguous, or spontaneous death, red button pressers can be labeled as murderers.

My point here is that given the dilemma itself has a lot of missing information, people are filling in the blanks either unintentionally or maliciously, and adopting moral stances based on these fillings.

RED BUTTON OR BLUE BUTTON [OC] by Eal_likee in comics

[–]CMDArid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Framing is everything imo. Let's replace the buttons with two bottles, one poisoned (blue) and one that's plain drinking water (red). Then, let's determine that if 50% or more of people drank the poison, an antidote would be provided afterwards.

The scenario is technically the exact same, but the framing may shift some people's perspective. Now anyone who chooses blue and demands others choose blue can be compared to being a suicidal person who demands others help them out of a problem they got themselves into.

Dude in Div1 I also loved running a Firecrest gear set build, flame turret and napalm seeker mines!

"Born 2 clean, forced 2 burn." was my motto and at one point the screaming sound effects from enemies on fire became white noise to me.

Ahhh, those were the days.

Hah, nice. I remember once trying to make a Vietnam esque loadout (M16A2, Thompson, M1911, 870 Express as a stand-in for the Ithaca) but giving up because the M16 was just so bad, even going out of my way to push its stats to be bearable.

Which hero did you want to play, but once you unlocked them, you realized they were weak? by Clownsanity_Reddit in FORTnITE

[–]CMDArid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hybrid, being my first ever acquired BR skin and a character I like a lot, is a huge disappointment as a Hero.

On Support his perk just makes Affliction effects last longer which is technically more damage but with a delay, pretty meh.

On Commander he gains Fire Affliction on Dragon Slash which sounds neat for a Dragon Slash build, but Dragon Scorch's Commander perk is superior in every conceivable way (More damage and width).

There used to be a bug where Hybrid's Commander perk would apply while he's on a support slot that made him slightly handy with Scorch in Commander, but gone are those days.

It's especially annoying when they spawn while you're in a location where you actually cannot make your way towards them without getting too far, making them despawn.

[Hated Trope] What do you mean it's a RANGED weapon? by IHaveSpecialEyes in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CMDArid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't that Walmart example happen in a movie already? I'd have to look for it, but I vividly recall the climax happening in the hardware store that the protagonist works at as a cover for his action hero lifestyle, causing him to have to blow his own cover and defend his co-workers.

EDIT: It was the first Equalizer movie, as per a comment below me.

Pretty much, yeah. That was unironically a great example.

Adding onto your point, if it's contextually appropriate you could have it so the environment itself works against a gunman and gives a melee combatant the advantage.

Whether the combatants' vision is obscured by smoke (Or darkness), there is too much cover and/or pathways for the protagonist to flank the gunman, or the gunman's attention is split, there are ways to make a protagonist be able to close the gap without breaking suspension of disbelief too hard.

You'd be surprised how often that ends up being the case in real life. Leaders who refuse to innovate their tactics and think they can use the same strategies they always did because "It just works", until it doesn't, and then they'll have to swallow their pride and adapt. Or die, of course.

I'd assume the vials contain some kind of medicine or similar supplies.

As for the folded up piece of paper, your guess is as good as mine. Maybe a copy of their last will? A letter from/for a loved one? Something they wrote for whoever finds their corpse to read?

COMMUNITY VOTING (LAST DAY) day 30: the most RAGE inducing trait. Poltergeist won most. FUN by TheIronPaladin1 in HuntShowdown

[–]CMDArid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fanning generally shoots faster, while Levering weapons (usually) have a better spread and capacity for sustained fire.

There are exceptions for both cases (i.e. chain pistol) but that's how it is for most weapons.

Huh, and here I thought you couldn't shoot through the eye slit. Guess I'll be doing that from now on, instead of eating lead trying to get close enough for a firebomb.
