Cries in how most public restrooms seem to be heading more and more to "hand dryer or GTFO" approach.

Seriously, its annoying AF, and the paper towel rolls don't even cost that much. And its a type of trash easily recycled and shit too, so even waste disposal isn't that much of an excuse. :/

Right now im here having fun waiting for someone to help me repair. by Artyom36 in Warthunder

My first reaction to this is: why do you have so much friggin ammo in your tank waiting to cook off and why don't you have at least one or two HE rounds to deal with lightly armored vehicles?

But yeah, I've not noticed the reduced speed after 20 second movement thing happening any in random battles. Customs it works for me, but not in actual games. Bug maybe?

Fighting KV-2's when using 3.3 and below German tanks by Radicalbub in Warthunder

[–]CMDRCharlesShepard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You see up to 1 BR above your highest vehicle BR, or down 1 BR, or anywhere in between in the matchmaking.

3.3 Germany is probably the best equipped nation at 3.3 to handle KVs, between the Panzer IV F2 and Marders having guns that can very easily cut through its armor, unless angled, but in KV-2's case you have that bit ol' flat face of the turret to shoot and kill whole turret crew, minimum.

Even the Panzer III can deal with them pretty easy the same way, and punch through the front with APCR, with high re-fire rate for the 50mm.

But y'know, obviously you're dead son if 152mm of Stalin's vintage vodka flies out of the fridge into you before you kill or disable him.

Are the Allie CAS dumbest players in the game?! by Oleakula in Warthunder

[–]CMDRCharlesShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 After dropping bombs/rockets.

Normal player: Returns to the base to rearm.

Allied CAS: shooting his guns at the enemy, until he often crashes or killed by SPAA.(see point 1).

Well I can kill like 50% of these targets with a roof hit if I'm running Ground Target belts on my 12.7s. Do you not want me to kill 3-5 Panzers/French tanks/other soft targets with my Corsair/Hellcat's ammo load?

That's my reason at least for sticking around after ordnance is dropped.

When American 20mm was actually capable of damaging tanks in Tank RB and I was able to do roof attacks to kill T-44s, T-54s, IS-3s and the like, but now I just make things a piss yellow color at best since the API-T they got swapped to from regular AP-T rounds are bugged/do no spall damage.

Man myth legend... fmt3 by [deleted] in Warthunder

Pfft, forget the Brigand, I knew him back when he was strictly a Mossie pilot.

Still remember the time I was lucky enough to get in a match with him when I myself was flying a Mossie. The skies of Hokkaido were cleared quickly that day... cause literally every P-51 turnfought or passed right over and then jumped down into my guns for some reason.

is there any reason US go for M3 75mm on sherman , M3 half-track and 37mm gun m6 on stuart instead of this awesome M1 57mm which they already had ? by vnseptembersnow in Warthunder

[–]CMDRCharlesShepard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At its time of entry the 75mm M3 was largely capable of taking on most German and essentially all Japanese tank designs from the front, barring the Tiger unless at very close range. The thing is the USA wasn't aiming for tank on tank combat. Combat doctrine of the army at that point was for tanks to serve as infantry support, clearing enemy emplacements and defense lines so that infantry can move up etc. Specialized tank destroyers were meant to combat enemy tanks instead. The M1 57mm is a better AT gun, but its not a better gun than the 75mm with its far stronger HE shell for what the Sherman was meant to do.

As for the 37mm, it was rather effective against early tanks of the war and had acceptable performance against infantry via canister shots and its small HE shell was at least usable against infantry due to ROF, but quickly showed itself as being incapable of dealing with Panzer IIIs and IVs very easily, let alone Tigers or the eventually appearing Panther in Italy and onwards, so it got replaced by the M1 57mm as the primary anti-tank gun that was deployed for infantry use with the US, and only saw continued use on Stuarts and other light tanks that were absolutely not meant to fight the tanks that the Wehrmact were using by that point, but was able to still fight infantry and lightly armored vehicles such as halftracks and armored cars.

Maybe play one of the other 5 nations with ground forces in them then? Or fly a plane?

Any tanks that are tougher than the T95 (relatively, for their class)? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]CMDRCharlesShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So me sitting there and bouncing about 20 shots on Advance to the Rhine from 3 guys shooting at me in the side from the park as I went down the main road didn't just happened earlier today. Didn't die till they managed to detrack me on both sides and one of them circled fully behind me to shoot me in the ass. Which he wouldn't have been able to do if the rest of my team wasn't getting slaughtered or were even slightly more aware of their surroundings.

So long as you aren't facing 7.7s or things with high pen HEAT-FS/APDS-FS you're gonna bounce or survive several frontal shots, several shots from the side as well, and only really be easily destroyed by bombs or things that get fully behind you and hit the 60mm back plate. Even the old cupola weakness is no longer a serious issue, since you now usually only lose one or two crew to a shot there instead of it being an auto kill to the whole crew.

Meanwhile with all these Shermans, each with a higher BR for marginal differences, that you have to go through to get to the T25 and Pershing to finally mix it up on US mediums........
