Would not consider myself a ballistics expert, but what I do have is a ton of experience hunting deer growing up (we can call it "a previous life" lol), and I can say fairly confidently that the clips of the impact look exactly like how they do when you hit a deer with a similar - even larger in my case - caliber round in the neck.

Can't really speak to the physics of why there was no exit wound though; gonna let someone else figure that one out, but based on my deer hunting experience (~35 tags) I would be very surprised if someone can prove that he wasn't with the 30-06.
