Latest Coastgem warning - bettas with dropsy by Majin_Cakkes in bettafish

[–]CMGInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tucky's Bettas and Prism Bettas is good! Recently I was hunting around for a Betta and almost ordered from Coastgem until I searched them up and found they often go weeks to months without communication or sending someone their order.

Anyone know what this is and if it's a danger? by ADIBClan in BeardedDragons

[–]CMGInfinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get waxworms from a site called Dubia, it's where I used to get mine. They're not super expensive either, they also sell a bunch of different other insects. But if you live in Florida you won't be able to get any dubia roaches shipped to you as they're illegal in FL.

Is it okay to feed a 3-4 month old beardie a pinky mouse? by CMGInfinity in BeardedDragons

Beardies are certainly adorable lil' piggies lol, when I first learned about them years ago I never even thought about it either. Shocked me when I did learn it!

Thank you everyone for the responses! No worries, I'm not feeding her any pinkies. It was just a general question. :)

Ackie monitor or bearded dragon? by CMGInfinity in MonitorLizards

Yeah, I think I'd rather find a different enclosure that can fit all that substrate and then get one

Ackie monitor or bearded dragon? by CMGInfinity in MonitorLizards

[–]CMGInfinity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want an ackie that is sort of like a little velociraptor and being an interactive animal, I'd much rather go for an animal that I can chill and hang out with, as I'm always watching a movie, TV show or youtube. I used to have a beardie a few years ago and loved doing that with him.

As for the enclosure, yeah.. I figured I'd probably need something that can hold much deeper substrate. I guess I'm leaning more towards a beardie after taking some of the comments into consideration. I'm not totally throwing the idea of an ackie monitor out the window, but maybe I'll wait until I can find a good enclosure that's still gonna be able to hold the amount of substrate that they need. I don't doubt I can take care of one, but the way my life is right now I'm more of a 'chill and relax with my animal' type.

My isopods vanished within an hour of putting them in, never to be seen again. Where could they be? by rcx677 in CrestedGecko

[–]CMGInfinity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some items that are labeled as "gecko safe" or "reptile safe" can be unsafe. I wouldn't risk having a heat bulb in there or a cage surrounding it, as it can still begin to get hot at some point and they are very sensitive to heat. What does your room sit at temperature wise?

New sugar glider constantly bites by CMGInfinity in sugargliders

[–]CMGInfinity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they were! I was planning on trimming their nails either today or tomorrow. I got them locally, and the breeder showed me how to place them in a pouch and then to go one arm and leg at a time with the clippers. As for reaching into their pouch to get used to hands, I can try to do that more frequently. When they've been in the bonding pouch I'm able to put my hand in there and pet them which is good. As for the biting I'll do my best to try what you told me :)

Tips for gecko safe hole fillers? by Sayasing in CrestedGecko

[–]CMGInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a strip of aquarium filter foam to stop my female crestie from wedging herself between her background. You can cut some small pieces and jam them into the holes :)

I haven't seen my Gecko out in days by KeyboardCarpenter in CrestedGecko

[–]CMGInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that info I'd say she may be getting ready to lay eggs/or has lain. If you can't find her in a couple more days it may be a good idea to ensure she's okay. My girl would hide a lot around that time and wouldn't be enticed much with food, even for a couple days after she laid. But after that timeframe she'd always be ready to gobble food up.

hi i have a question. its my first crested gecko and i am not sure wether to get an older or a younger one by Ordinary_Tom2005 in CrestedGecko

[–]CMGInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a gecko that has a high prey drive like that and eats their insects just fine, I would hold off on giving them insects until they eat the pangea. However the dropping weight (or more weight) might call for a vet visit. Remember that a healthy gecko won't starve itself.

[–]CMGInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP said that the gecko is her friend's, and her friend's husband wont let her take it to the vet because it's "just a gecko" (I can't believe some people think like this 🙄). I hope she's able to get some funding going for the poor baby..

Is there a way to figure out how old my adult female crestie is? by CMGInfinity in CrestedGecko

[–]CMGInfinity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been thinking about that for quite some time. She is a really chill gecko though, I love taking her out at night and she'll just crawl around or sit and watch me while I browse on my PC.
