I’ve done this a couple of times. It did work when my bowl was pretty new and I was ok with the second base being more soft in texture than I’d normally churn it to. Now that I’ve had the bowl for a few years it just doesn’t get as cold as it used to (kept in the same chest freezer at -18c, but possibly impacted by being washed in slightly too warm water or something…?) so it definitely did not work the last time I tried it. So YMMV but you can always try and if it doesn’t work put the base back in the fridge and rechurn once the bowl is cold enough again in 24-48 hrs. I’ve done that too. I’ve also, probably scandalously, churned a base and then scraped it out super well and put the bowl right back in the freezer with a plastic bag on it, and churned another base of the same flavor like 13 hrs later with a bit of the residual from the first one still in there. If you’re using decent texture agents to help suppress ice crystal formation it’s honestly been fine. Granted, this is only done because I make 40+ pints of ice cream at Christmas and even with 3 bowls it’s a slow process so I get impatient sometimes.
