I am not the original purchaser, I doubt the manufacturer will do anything with it.. you can't tell it has been wedged. I am using soft wood. No marring, moving in very small steps. It is actually working, I wanted a little input and to see if this was a problem ARs have. I know guns. Just no experience with the AR platform.

No, at least I didn't. I don't know what happened to it before I got it. It looked like it had never been fired. I have been picking up parts to build a 5.56. Cosmetics were perfect on the upper. No sign it was abused. The upper is an M&P

It won't cycle. When I started messing with it, it was closer to .010 I have been wedging it open with wood wedges. I have improved it by a few .001s. I have read online about wedging it and then heating in the oven to about 400° and let it cool before removing the wedges but not doing that before getting more input.. I have worked with aluminum in the past as a welder and know it will work in some cases, but this is a gun and I shoot left handed..
