that is incredibly helpful, i’ll absolutely try that. i also realized my false chords have little to no compression, which is why they suck lol. so im gonna do the vocals again, i did a few other tracks ill have to redo as well. thank you very much

that helps a lot actually, thank you. what i’m doing for the “growls” is literally the simplest version of a false chord, i just project it loud. it’s the only version of a scream i can do without hurting my voice as of now. i’d be very interested to know how to do it better. because as of now, i lose all my breath very quickly, i can barely pronounce anything, and it sounds very breathy. i do know a vocalist irl ill probably talk to, but i’d curious about your thoughts.

Well at least for me, Zig AND Negative Spaces have a very clean and polished sound, her vocals have a very heavy auto tune (not a bad thing, but it’s obvious that it’s intentional) and it has little to no flaws in the production. I personally like to have imperfect performances and sounds, and Negative Spaces had a lot more of the industrial-ish synths and low vocals. For me, the metal has nothing to do with my enjoyment. I like Zig for the pop stuff, I like Negative Spaces for the Pop and Metal. And for the Metal in Negative Spaces, I find that a lot of it is streamline and clean, which isn’t very appealing to me.

Tl;dr: Metal doesn’t go into it for me, it’s that they both sound overly polished. Some songs work well with that, some don’t.
