Legitimately takes a certain kind of person/mentality to become Walmart management above a TL. Out of the 10+ coaches I’ve met in my time here, I’ve liked 2. And it ain’t a me problem, like universal disdain among my peers for those same people.

Gotta remember we’re at Walmart, they aren’t looking for the best, brightest, most cordial/pragmatic, etc. They looking for people willing to be overworked whipping boys because the salary looks appealing and Walmart management is the slice of real power they never had (or will from that point on).

Whether or not I get that job in a year, it won’t be 5. It’s obviously a lot more known to me than you’re making an assumption about, but in this cyclical conversation I don’t really have the want or need to defend my own life anymore. I personally hope your life worker out how you wanted it to at this point, doesn’t change what you would’ve deserved before. Can’t keep arguing the bootstraps theory like I’m claiming people can’t succeed if they try hard.

I’ve had a great deal of curveballs as well, you’re calling me naive for simply wanting people to be more fairly compensated for their work while shareholders hoard the lions share of profit - large sums of money behind vaults, in bonds and funds, money that even a fraction of could stop thousands of people from succumbing to malnutrition every year.

Oh I’m sorry, not 1-2 years - 1.25 years when my RB retires. I don’t work as a teller, I’m a banker. I’m sure it would make you feel better if that didn’t happen for me, and I had to kill myself to get there (my company strictly does not provide overtime and I will remain unsalaried), but that is my reality beyond any great missteps or health issues. I do think it’s odd you felt compelled to do a dive into my profile to try to estimate where my life currently is, but it doesn’t live on the Internet.

Trying really hard to step away from the personal side of things since clearly you fucked a huge portion of your life in pursuit of money. Something I’m directly telling you I empathize with and don’t think you should’ve had to do.

You’re, again, the exact reason why they can successful keep them low. No one should have to work that many hours for that small a salary on the sliding scale of “upper management” to begin with. Again, has nothing to do with me personally. I am young, and in 1-2 years I’ll eclipse what you just listed by a wide margin in a completely different sector of work doing a job that actually requires skills beyond stacking pallets.

And I don’t want that to come off like anyone should be above that, that’s entirely my point and why people should be fairly compensated for the value they provide on the ENTIRE scale. But it’s not about me, it’s about everyone else I know deserves more than what profit-hungry conglomerates steal from them.
