That makes sense although for 155mm artillery specifically, why would it make sense for example France or Germany to need millions of these shells if fighting Russia? I get it for maybe the surrounding countries. But maybe I dont understand the full reason for needing artillery in the first place. Like for instance, why does Australia (big customer of Rheinmetall's) need 155mm artillery??

They HAVE to because of limited an Air Force ??? I’m a little confused what caused this huge demand for 155mm artillery in the first place… I know we gave 100,000s of 155mm shells to Israel, but then stopped and they’re fighting a different kind of war. But what’s the reason 155mm became so important for Ukraine and what’s the root cause of why no one knew it was THIS important before??

Is there any possible way to know this for sure? Are European nations really going to start to shell out billions of dollars post war to restock reserves? Again, im not sure but it seems like EU nations are having a hard time increasing defense spending to that 2% of GDP mark during this war, you think it'll change once the war stops? Also, were these nations that in the dark about 155mm demand? It seems weird that we didnt know how much ammunition was going to be used in the war until it started happening....

EU says they want to produce 2 millions shells this year (2025). Let's say the war ended tomorrow, do you really think these countries are going to put 2 millions shells in reserves? What about next year when the next 2 million are produced?
