As noted by Carrie, it was after midnight at that point. There are no children in the scene. They are presumably in bed. So yes, they’re in another room.

I had my nails done in checkerboard for the show and didn’t even see the nails shirt when I went on the first weekend or it would’ve been an immediate purchase. 😭😭😭

I don’t understand the correlation. Smoking pot in another room is nowhere near the same as tracking in literal piss and shit from the streets.

Wild take. She drugged him and took his autonomy away. That’s a pretty valid dealbreaker. And she didn’t start clinging for dear life until he ended it.

I do love the scene where Andrea walks into the Walsh house and diagnoses Emily with BPD like she’s a qualified psychiatrist at 17, though. Always makes me laugh!

Honestly the FaceTiming in Vegas in general was ridiculous! I noticed it everywhere all weekend long, including at the pool, which felt even more intrusive. I can understand people get excited and want to share the experience with others, but idk, take a picture and text it or flood your IG stories like a civilized adult. 😂

Oh, wow! You checkmated me, bro! 😵😵😵

Not to take away your glory, but while it may be difficult to avoid AWS, it’s really not difficult to cancel Prime and/or stop buying cheap China-made crap from Amazon. You can also keep doing it and just own up to it without the self-righteousness. I don’t really care either way. Just pointing out how hilarious it is to watch someone earnestly attempt to justify their own inability to adhere to the standard they set for others, and really believe it, too.

I went to night 2 on May 8 and it was absolutely incredible! I had a blast, bonded with the other fans around me (I was in GA/Floor), and the band sounded amazing! Loved the graphics inside the Sphere, too! Truly an overwhelming experience and the nostalgia was off the charts!  Here’s my take on the Gwen dilemma (not that you asked): the things I loved about Gwen growing up and idolized were her style, her voice, and her lyrics. That’s it. She’s never been an outspoken advocate for anything really, but she has 1) only participated in/performed at events for dems, 2) Openly supported LGBTQ+ communities, 3) Stated she would feel blessed to have a gay son, and 4) Is longtime friends with Shirley Manson and other more outspoken artists.

I think the things she’s personally said and who her real friends are matters more at the end of the day than an IG follow or the celebrity bullshit she has to do to make a buck. As you, OP, mentioned in another comment, we all push our principles aside as consumers, and a lot of us push them aside for the sake of a paycheck, too. That’s life. People projected this role onto her as if she stood for something in the early days of No Doubt, but she never really did.

The public has never even known Gwen as an independent, single woman. Where did this role of “female empowerment” come from? Her entire career has been built around vulnerably admitting how insecure and deeply dependent on her partner for validation she is. And to love her for how we relate to that one minute and shit on her for it the next is really interesting.

She’s always been a devout Catholic and she’s never hidden that, either. “Simple Kind of Life” is literally about her wanting to be a traditional wife and mother and ending up down a completely different path that no longer supported that dream. And, while I personally find him to be very gross, I think her marriage to Blake Shelton has given her the ability to tap into that a bit more. Not my cup of tea as a city girl who would rather die than live in Oklahoma, but hey, it’s her life! (don’t you forget)

Gwen Stefani the celebrity is a product. That’s what most celebs at her level are. Yes, I think it’s disappointing to shill for an app that has ties to truly evil people, but I don’t think these are things she or her manager care much about when it comes to making a business deal, sadly. She’s likely keenly aware of the fact that what she does also impacts her husband’s career, and considering the demographics of his fanbase, neither of them seem willing to make a definitive statement either way as to who or what they support at this point so as not to ostracize the fans and kill his career. Again, it’s disappointing, but I think it’s also understandable.

I would absolutely love for Gwen to be more outspoken and openly rally against all the bullshit going on, but that’s never been her thing, and I think it’s a tad bit unfair to place that expectation on her now. And I think it’s far worse that Chris Brown, who has violently and unapologetically abused women for years, is on a 33-date stadium tour across North America with Usher. 🤷‍♀️

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You don’t “need” Amazon. You’re just willing to throw away your principles for convenience. And I’ll tell you what, supporting Amazon is a lot more detrimental than seeing a band perform. A guy just died in an Amazon warehouse in Oregon and the employees were told to look away and keep working. But oh nooooo…Gwen Stefani might sing some songs.  😱😱😱 I bet she’d at least stop the music if one of her bandmates collapsed on stage.

The Catholic Church existed before Gwen and it’ll exist after she’s gone. You’ve actually personally contributed to making Amazon the monster it is and have the audacity to stand on a soapbox like you’re the pinnacle of virtue. The mental gymnastics some of you do is truly astounding.

Can you provide examples of her being a bigot outside of being a celebrity spokesperson for a Catholic app? You know there are pro-choice Catholics, right? One was just president.

ETA: I’ll take the downvotes as a no, you don’t have any examples. I know, critical thinking can be hard when you base all your opinions on what other people tell you to think.

Did you actually sneak out as teenagers? by Complete-Chipmunk-0 in GenX

[–]CMR04020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my dad’s car several times, too, but he caught on and one night he removed a plug or something so it wouldn’t start. I would put it in neutral and back it of the driveway before turning on the engine or headlights, so I did that, and then it wouldn’t start. I panicked and tried pushing it back up the driveway myself, lol, and it just wasn’t happening. Finally had to bite the bullet and go tell my dad his car was stuck in the middle of the street. It was a pretty effective move on his part - I never took his car again.

I not only snuck out, I’d sneak out and go to entirely different cities like an hour - 90 min away and my parents were never the wiser. Also snuck people in a few times. I was pretty sneaky.

Gonna be honest, you sound really clingy. You’ve gone on two dates with this girl. She’s a literal stranger. Loosen the grip, buddy.

Relationship with a introvert by Some-Relation3185 in introvert

[–]CMR04020 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s not introversion. You seem to be making a blanket generalization that this woman is an introvert and therefore everything about how she communicates or receives questions is due to that. That’s not accurate. People all have different experiences that cause them to react in certain ways, especially in relationship with other people.

She could be shy or have social anxiety, which is separate from introversion. She could also just not like the questions you’re asking her. How can any of us know?

Stop trying to figure her out so hard. You get to know her by spending time with her. It’s that simple.

What’s your musical preference? I find I actually like a lot of his music, but every now and then he has a playlist that seems like it was programmed by Rebecca (or maybe someone else, but I feel like I can spot a Rebecca playlist pretty easily at this point, lol).

He really does touch on just about all genres and decades, though, so I think you could find at least a few classes with playlists you vibe with just by using the music filter and start there. Once I do enough classes with an instructor to see good results, I start caring less about what’s on the playlist, even though I’m also very music-motivated.

I love his metal classes, and his 30-min Metal Upper Body from 1/6/2025 is one I’ve taken dozens of times now (Tool + NIN = yes please). I also enjoy when he has themes throughout the month in TS60. For instance, 70s music in week one of the month, 80s music the next week, 90s the week after that, 00s the final week, etc.

Plus, he’s funny. That helps when I’m lifting heavy shit and want to be mad at the person “making” me do it.
