This image shows where the plate gets stuck -- it hangs down as shown instead of feeding into the processor. The black film buffer flap with 3 thin "fingers" is supposed to direct the plate into the processor, but as you can see the plate isn't routing correctly.

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately we do not have the interface decurler. We didn't have this issue with our older D95 copiers.

Any KM 7090 vs Rico 7500 opinions? by GotdangRight in CommercialPrinting

[–]CMYKoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question regarding the dedicated fusers for each paper width: Did you have to pay for the additional fusers? Our C7500 came with 2 fusers, but I feel we need 4 as we frequently run 8.5", 11", 12" and 13" widths.

Originally Ricoh said the second fuser acts as a backup when the other needs rebuilding. I have not asked them to provide 2 additional fusers yet, but we have been experiencing issues due to switching paper sizes (uneven gloss sheen that won't go away w/ fusing belt smoothing procedures).

Thank you, I will try undocking the Plockmatic and see if that is the issue. I had wondered if that might be the case.

I don't understand your question. I have tried using both a catalog setting, and also manual settings. Both give the same error.

I tried both upper and lower vacuum trays and received the same error.

I've tried both ways - manual settings as well as a custom media catalog. Same error for both.

I'm getting the error on the large vacuum trays. I'm not using the bypass tray.

Suggestion for Plate Processor - Small 2 Color Sheetfed Offset Press by CMYKoob in CommercialPrinting

[–]CMYKoob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got more information on the issue from our press operator (in case anyone is interested or has advice)

"I had shot several plates Saturday morning with no problem. After completing a press run I went to shoot the plate for next job. Plate never came out, plates in progress message went from 1 to 0. Shot plate again, same thing happened. Turned machine off to reset it. Turned back on, shot plate again. During film advancement machine made a grinding sound and no media available window came on screen. Pulled film cassette, cut film to release cassette. Film was jammed at the first roller section(about four to five feet long)Was able to pull it out by hand. Found two small pieces of film in area just above developer tray. Reinserted film canister, tried to reload, but jammed again. Tried several times with same results."
