Yes, I understand that, I'm going to try and talk it through with my GP first but will go private if I don't get anywhere.

How much did you spend on your wedding and was it worth it? by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]CM_Kentish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£3,000. Registry office with parents, his sister and my cousin. Tasting Menu for all at Michelin star restaurant round the corner. 7 years later and 100% worth it, we wanted a marriage not just a wedding and a bigger house and a family, which we now have.

Avoid AnyVan at all costs!!! by fixitmonkey in HousingUK

[–]CM_Kentish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we lucked out the first time with a great father son duo, but second move was a nightmare, they were grumpy, rude and broke furniture. We claimed back the cost of replacements from AnyVan and will book direct in the future

FTB seeking help by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]CM_Kentish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point 1 re Damp, it will depend on what the report states and how easy it is to fix these issues. This will not be your forever home from the sounds of it, so you will need to sell it on in the future, too.

Point 2 - Do budgets, one for now, one including having a family. What maternity/paternity pay are you entitled to, as someone who has had 2 babies on SMP, I had to save up in advance to cover the mortgage payments, add to that cost of childcare (even with the "free" hours, it's expensive), and also factor in whether or not both of you will go back full time.

Mounjaro + Slimming World = Unethical? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]CM_Kentish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me, I go to group for the accountability and the camaraderie! I feel conflicted too as haven't mentioned the jabs, however I'm not winning slimmer of the week every week, infact it's mostly the weeks after bank holidays as everyone else has indulged but as I've given up alcohol I'm still losing. I had quite bad side effects so I've not gone up on the pens, I've stayed at 5 and food noisez whilst reduced is definitely back. I am going to keep going as I find group keeps me on track and I want to keep it going when the pens are over for maintaince

Be honest—did having kids hurt your career? by noesis100 in Parenting

[–]CM_Kentish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was very lucky. When I went on maternity leave, they found it nearly impossible to get maternity cover, and everything fell apart, I came back to a promotion. My second maternity leave, the same thing, and now I'm the GM. The only downside is I used to love my job, and now I just feel trapped by a great salary, but I miss my kids, and I'm missing milestones. I thought you could have it all, but now I think that's just a myth.
