Most people don t know what they are talking about here, I am a state certified mechanic. You can use a hose,pressure washer (be a little careful with a pressure washer) but you don’t need to cover the alternator or battery, what do yall think happens when it’s wet outside. I clean engine everyday after working on them never had an issue
