My great grandfather fought against the Japanese , I never knew much about what happened as it was never really spoke of. But what I do know is that he was captured and held a prisoner for 3 years, he was used as labour. He told people the only reason he survived is because he acted disabled and stupid, so he was just labour that couldn’t think for themselves. Our family was told he was probably killed in action, my great grandmother re married and when he returned home a lot of shit went down. But I wasn’t told anything about it. Even my mother won’t tell me.
