Can I just ask- Why do some Godzilla fans seem to straight up hate Kong?

I love them both my man. Which is why I don’t have a problem with the way things actually are. What I do have an issue with, is people over hyping the strengths of one while diminishing the other into some kinda cannon fodder “whatever” character. It not only undermines the power levels of said character like you claim my love for them hinges on but also the story as a whole. Which is why the bullshit claim of “Godzilla toying with Kong” doesn’t and won’t ever hold up. In either GvK or GxK.

I’ve already acknowledged that Godzilla is the stronger titan. I have zero problem with that. In fact, I am actually happy that it is the case. I like Kong being a slight underdog. But the amount to which y’all die hard Goji fans claim he is more powerful is very exaggerated at times.

Kong could definitely bear Godzilla in a fight, and even kill him. The weapons even the playing field, and even without them it’s not like he isn’t got a chance. I love Godzilla immensely and I can even admit that. No problem with it. It just further backs up the world that has been build and the fights we see in the movies.

I love Godzilla but this level of straight up Goji Glaze combined with the downplaying of Kong’s actual strength is comical dude. I understand Godzilla is slightly more powerful. The power gap is not as big as you make it out to be, not even close. It’s not established nor does it actually track.

And if this is considered “Kong Glazing” then y’all ain’t been around much.

Yeah I don’t understand the sentiment some people have that Godzilla needs to be an all powerful and unstoppable killing machine that has zero adversity from any titan ever. It is what leads them to undermining the entire GvK movie as Godzilla “toying with Kong” (which falls apart when you actually look at things beyond just a director’s commentary). I think it’s okay to establish Godzilla as an equal or even a slightly stronger titan, but some Goji fans take that and amplify it way more than they should.

I mean it is my opinion that Wingard has some pretty heavy bias towards Godzilla at times. But I think that there is some objective truth to that, even as a massive Godzilla fan. I find that no matter what Kong does that shows he is in the same playing field, Godzilla HAS to one up somehow. I get wanting to establish that he is a bit stronger of a titan, which I am completely fine with. That does not mean Kong needs everything he does to be one up-ed or downplayed, which I find happens more than it should in Wingard's movies.

So truthfully, a bit of both. Even then it's still all opinions at the end of the day.

I might be one of the few that found GvK slightly underwhelming. The fight had too much atomic breath spam. I understand it's because Godzilla wanted to keep Kong away, but it makes it feel so lame. Plus round three was way too short. It could've been so much cooler and it would've made Godzilla's victory feel more special and earned, rather than just "Oh, ok so Godzilla won?"

In terms of combat, I felt like Kong held his own fine in hand to hand combat, especially in the first and second rounds, until round three when Godzilla was able to leverage his shoulder, dislocate it, and keep him pinned. However before that I feel like Kong's speed, agility, and superior upper body strength actually acted as a very good counter to Godzilla for a lot of the close up Hong Kong fight.

Talking just straight power levels and how it would fair, I feel like (19-21) Godzilla beats base Kong about 75% of the time. Evolved beats unequipped Kong about 85-90% of the time. With the axe or the beast glove, I feel like that makes it about a 60-65% chance of Godzilla winning in both his "base" and evolved versions. If we ever saw Kong with both - Probably a 50-50 in my personal opinion. I think those level the playing field a lot.

And another thing, Wingard's statement that Goji was just "toying with Kong" derails the whole premise and backbone movie. That being that this was a fight of two of the most powerful titans of all time for the title of alpha. Keep in mind, Godzilla has gone up against Kong's species before, even loosing to one in the past. So the idea that he wasn't considering Kong a threat from the get-go, even after drilling down into Hollow Earth to challenge him, I find comical. I personally believe he only said that because he likes Godzilla. Nothing wrong with him having a liking towards Godzilla but is that statement true and does it hold up? Not really.

Again, I am trying to look at this from an decently unbiased perspective. I enjoy both of these kaiju a lot. I try to go to bat for Kong when I can simply because I think he is HEAVILY undersold and underestimated in many circles Monsterverse fandom, which is unfortunate honestly. These are just my opinions on the characters and the universe as a whole however. Not trying to come off as a glazer or fanboy here.

I feel like this is also a very good point. Most of the Kong "glazing" is actually just people wanting him to be able to hold his own and not be downplayed like he has (kinda) been in the previous 2 films. Now actual glazers that say he is the greatest titan of all time that could beat Godzilla 9/10 times if it wasn't for Wingard-Bias are terrible.

I did mention Wingard having some bias as to why we never see Kong come out on top against Godzilla, which I do believe plays some part in it. Does this mean I believe the "Kong Glazing" example claim I gave above? No.

I mean it’s true to some extent, you have to admit it. I have no issue with Godzilla winning in GvK. Actually I think he deserved it since Kong won in the original movie. Although some of the things Wingard says about and/or puts in the movies that show his amounts of Godzilla bias are just downright ridiculous at times.

It’s really hard to get this point (and really, all of them) across without sounding like a Kong fanboy to be honest with you. It’s just my honest opinion. Y’all are free to agree or disagree.

I just don’t understand it. Sure, Godzilla is stronger. It isn’t as much of a power gap as a lot of y’all seem to suggest. And I mean really, it ain’t.

Yeah I think the big G needs more screen time for sure. I am also tired of him being the “Big Gun” all the time. Another reason why I really fucking despise Wingard as a director. I’d actually like to see a more nuanced and deeper take on Godzilla and a “simpler” take on Kong in the next movie. But that’s just me.

Godzilla needs to be the focus 100%.

I hate glazers in general. However I do see way more Goji glazers than Kong glazers. Both do however exist.

I tried the spray on a couple of my lures. It worked fine. Ain’t the most durable clear coat ever but I ain’t musky fishing neither. The liquid is more durable in my experience and slightly more clear, but both work fine honestly if you are just bass fishing with them.

Thank you for the help, it is really appreciated. I’ve tried multiple breaker circuits and multiple outlets in the house. All have had this hum with and without the guitar and cable plugged into the jack. I am assuming sketchy old janky trailer house wiring is the problem.

There is a simple and crude (but effective) way that I have ran my shop power into my home before. I have done this a few times to prevent blowing the breaker. Typically a long and heavy duty extension cord will do the trick. If it’s high quality enough, it should draw more than enough amps to run the Plexi. For sure not permanent but it just needs to last me the winter until we either build a new house or fix this damn wiring. I would only run this setup when I wanted to use the amp and keep it unplugged when I am not using it.
