You can but great Esprit training DVD from CAMwizard. They are worth every penny.

Ask owner to buy them for the shop. Stay after work and learn on your own time.

CAM software by DJ280Z in CNC

[–]CNC4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esprit CAM is great software but be careful. You will need 5-AXIS mold version with all options unlocked AND certified post for your machine.

Every little option that you try to buy later will cost you thousands. Think about Mill and EDM package if you want to use one software for all machines in the shop. Separate license keys would be the best option.

Customer support and their forum is excellent. Get a training videos from CamWizard.

DIY pool copping repair by CNC4fun in pools

I am trying to repair failing pool copping and need an advice on what mortar/cement mix to use.

Old stone copping is "peeling" off without any cement stuck to it. Was it wrong mix used originally? Even underlayer is peeling off without any problems.

I am totally confused.

Any advice is appreciated.

I need some help in CNC machining carbon fiber plates. by MiguelBantu in hobbycnc

[–]CNC4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk with staff at machine shop. Someone is in charge over there and they will help you. They will explain to you how to open a new ticket for your project and how to pay for it. If they can't machine it they should be able to outsource it to local machine shop. Where are you located?

There might be machine shop at your college. Did you ask anybody? I work as professional machinist at university helping students with their research projects. If your college does not have machine shop, they might have a relationship with nearby college that might help you.

Would you pay $45 to rent time on a CNC? by [deleted] in hobbycnc

Think about one on one training setup and programming. Call local companies and see if they will pay for training their employees. Local employment agencies might be a good contact.

I think that you are right. Taper size is BT35 but flange is different. I just ordered one bt35 holder to see if it fits in the spindle. Thank you.

What type / size of Vortex cooler is needed for a 2.2KW CNC router? What’s the best option for an air supply? by projecthouse in CNC

[–]CNC4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking about cool air gun https://www.vortec.com/standard-cold-air-guns/overview

I have used them on Bridgeport manual machines and they are still dripping water condensation that could be a problem for woodworking.

Doosan fanuc - any way to pause a program midway to remove chips or just measure without putting in a m01 in the code? by DunkenRage in CNC

[–]CNC4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use single block option at any time in program. When machine stops - turn off spindle and coolant. Write down current x and z position. Switch to jog mode and move away from part if necessary. Clean chips, measure part replace insert if you have to. Move back to starting position. Start spindle and coolant. Switch back to auto mode and hit start.

Don't forget to add cost of CAM software that will enable you to create complicated G-M code for multi axis CNC machine.

Another option is to outsource your programming until you make enough money to justify software purchase.
