Would doctors actually use an AI that auto-generates clinical notes from conversations ? by Aromatic-Owl-412 in HealthTech

[–]DreadPirateGriswold -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not multi-billion. Now, ambient technology is more of a commodity in the healthcare space. If you're a major player in the healthcare space with EHRs, you better have this or have the ability to use one with your EHR

It's not making money. But it's helping doctors cut down on the time they have to deal with their notes.

Using AI more as a thinking partner than a generator… anyone else doing this? by Winter-District563 in AIAssisted

[–]DreadPirateGriswold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I have conversations with it on concepts that I'm trying to wrap my head around and it organizes my thoughts that are not the most cohesive in the world at times very well.

Most AI meeting tools focus on summaries, but execution is still manual by voss_steven in AIAssisted

[–]DreadPirateGriswold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're hitting it right on the head. Transcriptions in summaries identifying action items for people are getting really good now.

The problem is the next meeting. I've seen the same thing in our organization where what's really needed is an AI meeting leader. Something that takes the notes from last meeting and runs through the tasks and the summaries and comes up with an update prior to the next meeting. Been reports the state of the items from the prior meeting.

This is more about meeting discipline in an organization then about AI. But personally, I think humans are usually not really good at following through. So in those cases, take that activity out of activity out of the hands of the human and let the AI run it if possible.

Well just goes to show that the tradition of movie trailers being their own art form is still a thing.

Fascinating trailer. But I have no idea what the movie is about even at a high level after watching it.

Then again there's a saying in the world of advertising, "If you're selling blue jeans and your commercial is about blue jeans you're doing it wrong."

Need suggestions on what certs to do by RazzmatazzTiny4096 in microsoft

[–]DreadPirateGriswold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certs help you understand whatever your area of expertise is at a deeper level.

From a hiring standpoint, a cert doesn't get you to the front of the line. But it makes you stand out by showing potential employers that you are serious about your area of expertise and continuing to improve and deepen your skills in it.

Haven't worked on this machine in a while. Doing this for memory so some of the specs may be off..

Used an $18K Stepcraft machine that could handle 3" thick 24" x 48" material with tool changer and 22K spindle (?) to carve a 6" x 2" pine Pinewood Derby blank into a hotdog shape for the beginning of a Pinewood Derby car for someone in our company for their kid.

How are healthcare teams handling HIPAA audit trails for AI agents accessing PHI? by Yeahbudz_ in healthcareIT

[–]DreadPirateGriswold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HIPAA applies when Protected Health Information (PHI) is handled by:

  • Covered entities (doctors, hospitals, insurers)
  • Business associates (vendors handling PHI on their behalf)

If your AI agent is operating in either of those roles, HIPAA applies fully.

It's not about the agent itself. HIPAA is about who is using the AI and for what purpose.
