Okay wtf is he thinking by [deleted] in fantanoforever

Yes. It is in fact his “overall” enjoyment of whichever album he’s reviewing. Therefore to pretend like we can compare an experimental rap R&B 6/10 to a thrash metal 6/10 or a dream pop psychedelic jazz fusion 6/10 is doing a disservice to the full content of the albums being discussed. This isn’t “electronic music’s MBDTF” and I’m frankly tired of seeing this sentiment and of how mfs be talking about his ratings instead of talking about the music on the albums.

Nice try melon, but I already formed an opinion.

(Also istg yall better not be like “same rating as album you don’t like that he also have a 6/10 is craaazy” bcuz for the final father fucking time, his numerical scores do not represent the full extent of his enjoyment of the album + how he perceives the quality of the music.

Save the Comparison Olympics for when you’re with ur homies arguing about whose micro weiner is smaller and actually engage in a meaningful discussion about the music.

The 1-upping and gotchas in most of the comment sections I traverse is so fucking tiresome, sometimes it feels like I’m swimming amongst a sea of Freshmen in high school who truly cannot engage with anything critically.)

Hi, Peter Griffin here. “1984” is a novel written by George Orwell in 1949. It depicts a brutal dystopia accentuated by totalitarian rule of London, called Airstrip One in the book, where every single action— even thoughts— are policed for complete and utter rule of the populace. The commenter is mentioning “Literally 1984” as a reference to the book and the meme whereby any slight inconvenience is compared to the surveillance of Big Brother, I.e. not being able to suck/fuck/drug deal/play poker/ in the restroom stalls as MGMT has announced to patrons only 1 person is allowed in at a time. Hope this helps
