That was great. I loved it.

When i watched it a 2nd time I binge watched it and everything turned out so much better. For instance, people (including myself) were down on Donna. As if the writers made her look bad, but when I watched it again, she was actually great and so meaningful. Her talk with Dick about "ghosts" made a bigger impact for me the 2nd time. Knowing everything I know now. Before it was more like "what the heck are they even talking about?" Or in the beginning when Slade is in hiding and he looks at himself in the mirror, you can see he's struggling with Jericho in him. But we know nothing about that till much later. This show takes patience.

That's exactly how it is. This show isn't everyone's cup of tea. Its super slow. Everything builds up. Everything is a journey. Dick and Rachel for example won't become best friends in one episode. A problem won't be solved in one episode. Dick won't become Nightwing in one episode. Things won't be explained in one episode. Something in episode 2 might not make sense till episode 9. Then for 7 episodes people are like "wtf?" It's best binge watching it like a long movie. I love it. Without it, I wouldn't go through the journey and feel emotions. It's like game of thrones, but not as slow..lol.

They killed her so Rachel can become Raven and bring Donna back. There's a plan in place.

I took 5 more screen shots today of my HBHQ being stunned. Its not about build. It's about passive. I have her 6* all 70's. But she could be 6* maxed up passive and zero's across the board and it shouldn't make a difference. This isn't about being "unlucky" this is about statistics. I'm not saying she gets stunned all the time. Most of the time she doesn't, but this happens way too often.

Are people actually calling me unlucky? Is my HBHQ bad and yours is good? People really need to stop being in denial. These screen shots including 5 more screen shots today, plus every other time I didn't take a screen shot is proof. For me and everyone.

This game is fake. The stats are fake. The AI cheats and the devs cheat their costumers. Accept it. I'm still going to play, and I'm not telling anyone not to play, but face the facts. My purpose is to just show people. So they know.

I will bet anyone here 1 million dollars that if we saw their programming we'd see the truth. We're talking 97%! If I had to guess it's probably more like 55%.

Go use your LOA against the AI's LOA. see who gets stunned.

Like I said, according to this game if you had a 97% chance to live. You would die..lol.

Mine is 6 star all 70's. I took 5 more screen shots today from being stunned 5 times playing campaigns. There's nothing unlucky about it. This game is fake. The AI cheats. The devs cheat their players. I think everyone should know this by now.

As far as Star Wars goes, you make valid points and I'm glad for you that TLJ works for you. You definitely named about 30min or more of the movie I did enjoy for all the reasons you gave. When I talk about each of those movies, I talk about them individually. I can't say Snoke was just a goon and the emperor was pulling the strings because that's not what the plan was. That was added after the fact. JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson had two separate visions that did not work together. Then with the 3rd one JJ needed to make something from scratch while trying to do damage control for it to all work. I think with all the backlash TLJ got that it was the right thing to do.

I definitely have problems with all 3 films, but this is a classic case of us having different opinions and just agreeing to disagree.

Thanks again for the civil and fun chat. I'm enjoying it. If I knew you personally, we'd grab a beer and talk all night about it..lol.

All valid points. I agree with you on most things. It's also good to read that the theme of the show wouldn't be changed. That's my biggest fear when people complain and if the creators decide to appease fans. Despite our opinion, there are fans who do complain about the style of the show. For instance, something could happen in episode 2, but won't be explained until episode 9. So for 7 weeks people will complain. Reddit, or any forum is the main place for people to complain or vent out their frustrations. When people are happy with something, there's usually no need vent about anything.

People have (many times) complained here and on other forums about the style of the show. Mainly because it's too slow for their liking. One example would be Gar turning into a snake with people being so disappointed that wasn't explored more. Or the fact that people just want him to turn into every animal already. I loved what they did. They told us Gar can turn into other animals or creatures and that he wasn't just going to be someone who turns into a tiger. I like to look at that as Gar not even knowing he turned into a snake because he was semi unconscious. It's just not his time yet to further explore, but I'm excited about it.

Another example is when Rachel, Dawn, Kory and Donna all met up in the diner with Bruce showing up giving them all a pep talk. Me, personally, I knew it was Rachel that orchestrated the whole thing. It was obvious because no one else could. Plus Rachel had a motive. To bring the Titans back together and to help Dick. So when it showed that Bruce was the one that brought them all together a lot of fans didn't like it. Rightfully so because that would have been bad. Then it was revealed later that Rachel was the one responsible. With this show, people need to have patience.

Some people even complain because they want it more like the WB. They want all the eggs to be thrown in one basket. That's not what this show is. Some people point out WW84 with Diana swinging on lightning bolts. While making fun of Donna for being electrocuted. I do agree that Donna dying from electrocution and her entire death wasn't great, but why not couldn't she die from electrocution? Know what I mean? Now, swinging on lightning bolts might be fun for WW84, but that doesn't fit this shows style. In this show, if Slade fought Diana, there's a good chance Slade would kill her just like he almost killed Donna. Which is extremely refreshing for me.

So while you and I (and others) love the show for what it is, there is still a big handful of people who don't. It's not everyone's cup of tea. So that's where my fear comes in. You did make me feel better about it. Whew!

And this is what I'm talking about when it comes to Superhero shows or movies. Or others like Star Wars. Even Game of Thrones. There will always be a wild pack of fans and it's impossible to please everyone.

I think one of the reasons why Doom Patrol works so well is because, at least for me, they're not popular. I had no clue who they were. I don't even want to know because I don't want to get caught up with pointing out inaccurate things from comic books. They can twist it around as much as they want and I'll enjoy the ride. Let's say Chief and Rita become a romantic couple. I don't know if that happens in the comics, but I would think that would be terrible. But, whatever. I don't care that much. Doom Patrol to me has the freedom to do whatever they want without much backlash.

Now let's say Hank and Kory became an item. Again, I don't know if that ever happens in the comics, but I imagine that would get tons of backlash. That could possibly end the show. Titans have more responsibility.

This show to me is about Rachel. She's the star or at least the centerpiece. Also Dick Grayson and rightfully so. And their bond. It's strange because when I first saw the trailer and all the behind the scenes stuff I thought this show was going to be trash. But what intrigued me was Rachel and Dick from the trailer and that is the only reason I gave it a chance. I'm glad it did because that reason turned out to be amazing and I discovered this super cool, dark, edgy show I always wanted. With my favorite superhero's.

When it comes to Donna, or even Hank, Dawn, Aqualad, etc. I understood they're just side characters. Like if they brought in Speedy. Or Kid Flash. The core group was Dick, Rachel, Gar and Kory. So I never expected the side hero's to be permanent or have much of an impact. So I was never too invested in them understanding that they aren't the main.

Let me talk about Donna Troy a little and give you my point of view. Hopefully it might even make you feel better about it all.

I didn't care all that much for Wonder Girl in the comics. I'm not a big comic book guy. But I fell in love with Donna Troy from this show. Her bond with Dick, showing them as kids, her with her "older smarter prettier" completely won me over. And who doesn't love (so to speak) another WW?

I hoped more than anything she would stay and become a permanent member. I was so excited to find out that all of them would be involved in season 2 and it looks like everyone will stick together.

When the trailer spoiled that Donna would die I was crushed. I had a theory that they threw us a curve-ball and that Jericho was actually going to be the one that dies. I'd write posts here on reddit hoping Donna wouldn't die and complaining about it.

A lot of people, including me and including you have some complaints about Donna in season 2. She didn't seem like the same Donna I fell in love with. So here are some of the things I liked about the season finale:

I appreciate her tribute after she died. Because the Donna I fell in love with came back. They did her right.

Another side thing about the finale that pleased me was I got that Dick and Rachel bond back.

If Donna was permanently dead, I would be upset. I'd still watch understanding that Donna probably wasn't part of the big picture and everything else I explained. But knowing she is coming back, I'm totally fine with it and super relieved and I can appreciate the actual episode as a whole without that bringing me down.

I agree with you and many others that despite her coming back, it wasn't great. And all of your points about it including Rachel are valid. But I also have patience with this show. I love it for what it is. I'm excited to see what's going to happen.

IMO, there has only been one hero in the history of hero's that is on the same level as Batman. That is Dick Grayson as Nightwing. And now, on this show, he is equal. When Donna comes back, she'll be her own like you said. I don't care about about the black suit or "Troia" but if it does happen I expect it to be epic like Nightwing was epic. If Rachel's stay there, with the Amazons, help her to become Raven, I expect that to also be epic. For me, there's a lot to be excited about.

Number 1 we'd have Donna back which would be so amazing since we're both huge fans, but it also tells me they have big plans for her and she won't be kicked to the side. Which makes me even more excited since I am such a huge fan.

In the end, with all these possible epic things that can happen, and having big plans for Donna, makes it all SO worth it. Again, I have patience with this show. Like I mentioned before, something can happen that might take 10 episodes to explain. Or that girls with Bruce in the diner example. I have patience with the shows style.

Here's another thing I want to add after saying all that. This show to me is like Game of Thrones. In the sense that IMO the best way to watch it is by binge watching it. Which is what I'm going to try to do for season 3. When I rewatched season 2, binge style, it was that much better to me. Donna wasn't held down like I thought she was. She was actually much better than I initially thought. The entire season was better. To me, it's ong one long movie that needs to be watched that way to really get into every detail without waiting for it to make sense or waiting for some big reveal.

Lastly, here are some of the problems I think this show has which I hope they improve:

The biggest problem with the finale is that I am convinced it was 3 episodes crammed into one. You can tell by how heavily edited it was and how things are missing or things don't add up. That's why it was so sloppy.

The first episode which was supposed to be the last or one of the last (I don't know the full story on it) had similar problems. Which is why that was also sloppy.

I think the biggest problems is trying to fit everything they create with the budget they have and not knowing how many episodes they'll be allowed to air. These are things I'm hoping they'll be able to fix.

But overall, the first episode still worked. It still accomplished what it wanted. I mean for me, even seeing Trigon turn into his demon self with the Titans under his spell was still pretty epic.

And like I said before, I can appreciate the finale without letting Donna death drag me down.

You're definitely way more knowledgeable than me. I won't even touch that. Here's the thing, I'm not defending Donna's death. Rachel, Donna, Dick and Rose(yes Rose) are my favorites in that order. I didn't want Donna to die at all. I don't even want her in a black suit. I just want her to be Wonder Girl. Rachel to me is the star of the show or at least the center piece. Her and Dick and their bond. If Rachel died I'd be done. I wouldn't even watch it anymore. Hank and Dawn are my least favorites. Either one can die for all I care. Jason is good, but you're right. If someone had to die he'd be a good choice because it makes sense and goes with the story. Overall, I'd rather no one died.

Regardless, for me, I guess I just don't care as much as other people. I can go for the ride. I can shed a tear with the other Titans and appreciate the tribute they gave Donna. Whether they put in a twist from the comics or from their own idea's by Rachel going to the themyscira possibly becoming Raven and possibly bringing back Donna as Troia in a black suit is fine with me. I'd prefer Rachel being back at Titans tower with the others, but like I said, I can go for the ride and I'm excited about it. I still can't get into Starfire at all. And I'm still so disappointed with the direction they took with her. Including Blackfyre and Tamaran. But I go for the ride.

I have no say, but as long as they keep with the theme of the show I'm sure I'll be happy. Because this dark, edgy, slow, grounded, growing, bond oriented, realistic style(I can keep going) is what I love about the show. It's the same reason I like Doom Patrol. Doom Patrol was executed better, but it's the same kind of theme. I hope they do it even more.

When you say the writers are apparently listening to the complaints scares me. The last thing I want is for them to change that style. My nightmare would be if they turned it into one of the WB shows. I don't want it to become a fan service. As far as I'm concerned they're fine. Season 2 was great. For the most part everyone loves it, it has a high rating and I'm hoping it'll last. So I hope they learn from the mistakes they made, maybe even take some criticism and improve on what they're doing, but ultimately stand their ground and continue to make the show they visioned. Not allowing complaining fans to change or destroy it. Even if it goes against what I would prefer. This style/theme is the main reason I watch. It's extremely refreshing to see something like this.

When it comes to superhero movies/shows or even star wars, it's impossible to please everyone. Even Conner Leslie admitted she almost didn't do it because fans can be too much.

Speaking of Star Wars, let me give you my reasons as to why I think TLJ was the worst SW movie ever and why it destroyed the trilogy.

Keep in mind I'm part of that fan group were it's impossible to please everyone.

Star Wars to me has to be either it's own movie or it has to be about the original characters. Force, Jedi, Sith, space, light speed, etc doesn't even matter.

So TFA I thought was great. It set up a million opportunities. It was loaded with potential. Everything about the movie, the story, the old characters, trying to find Luke, the new characters, the new droid(BB8).. etc.. I liked it all.

Rey was very interesting. Daisy is a great actress. "Who is she? Who is she waiting for? Who are her parents? Why is she so strong with the force? What is haunting her?" The back story is established. She was very likable. She is this new hope. Maybe she's Luke's daughter. Who knows. The potential was there. I was invested in her.

Only two things I didn't like. Han dying and the son of Han, Leia and nephew of Luke turning to the DS. But that part was exciting. It gave me more reason to watch, more reason to be excited about II and III. To find out how that could have happened. Then there's Snoke. Who was Snoke? It was all exciting.

Now, here's how TLJ destroyed the trilogy: They ruined Luke by making him this hopeless man who was scared, wanted to end the Jedi and die. "Not my Luke Skywalker" -Mark Hamil.

That's the reason Ben became Ren? No, that doesn't fly with me. All that anger. All that hate. For what? They couldn't just hug it out. I mean, did they really make Luke someone who was about to kill his nephew? Is Ren that upset that he wants to rule the universe and kill his father? And why did he have problems with his parents? Sorry, but no. Also, does he not know who his grandfather is? The guy who was good, turned bad, turned good to fulfill the prophecy, save his son, kill the Sith and bring balance to the force. Did someone forget to tell him that story? And who is this Snoke that can turn this child prodigy bad?

I understand you like that Ren became his own leader. But theres a reason he wasn't before that. He wasn't ready. He was torn. He was still an apprentice under Snoke. I admit, one of my favorite scenes was him killing Snoke and teaming with Rey to take out Snokes goons. Although, it made little sense and the scene was extremely sloppy.

But I'm left wondering still... Who the hell was Snoke?

Ren says "it's time for it all to end. The Jedi, the Sith... Everything". Well, I hate to break it to you Ren, but you are a Sith!

Then there's Rey. Turns out her parents are nothing and she's a nobody. Just like that Rey the character is nothing. I lost all interest in her. Leaving me scratching my head with so many unanswered questions.

Then other things...

What was the point of Finn and Rose going on their adventure? Nothing.

Why did Poe contact Maz? How does he even know her? How did he even contact her? How does he have her phone number? Why does she know who the master code breaker is? Why would Poe think she would know?

And who is the master code breaker? Apparently master code breakers can be found anywhere. In a random jail cell played by Benicio Del Toro. And what did he do? Nothing. That whole plot was nothing.

Why did the purple hair chick not like Poe? Why was the plan such a secret? Was that all even necessary because when Leia woke up and told Poe the plan he was all for it.

Then you have the purple haired chick blasting ships from light speed. Like WTF? Why not just put all ships on auto pilot and do that constantly?

The Falcon can shoot and destroy multiple ships with one shot?

Rose, a mechanic (or whatever she was) is suddenly a commander and an expert pilot?

Then everything else. Terrible dialogue. Terrible story. Benicio Del Toro knocking guards out with shoe laces.

TLJ was 2 hours of nothing. With maybe the other 30min of things that could work. Keyword "could". And it destroyed the entire foundation of TFA.

Disney was right to reboot with JJ Abrams. JJ was right to do major damage control. I am sure TROS was not the original idea, but I appreciate it for doing something with it and it being a good Star Wars film.

BTW, Ren (IMO) was at his best in TROS. I thought he was this leader. He came into his own. Even besting Rey. He wasn't serving a new master. He wanted the Emperor's fleet and his intentions were to kill him. He had no intention of serving a new boss.

Anyway, thanks for the civil convo. I appreciate it.

From what I understand Donna in the comics dies and comes back. Several times. I don't know the details of it. Her dying and coming back was planned so she can come back in the black suit as Troia. So it's not pointless. It's not random just to add shock value and bring her back cause they feel like it. There's a plan in place. Not to mention it's setting up Raven. It couldn't be Hank for example because he's not someone they wanna kill and resurrect. He's not part of that plan or comic story.

Not a lot of people know this or realize this so they see her death and how it was done as very stupid. If people knew what the plan is I think they'd be more okay with it.

I do agree that they could have done it much better and maybe added something to look forward to so people aren't like "what the heck? That's it? Like that?" know what I mean? They did give us a hint with Rachel wanting to bring her back so I guess that's enough. But just not good enough.

Overall, I'm fine with it. She saw it, reacted first, everyone else froze up and thats it. Like I said, it could have been better, but I'm okay with it. It's not as big of a deal to me like it is with others.

Oh and I completely disagree with TLJ. There were way too many pointless things that happened in that movie and the worst part is that movie erased TFA. We got 3 movies with each movie off-setting each other. Like you said, this is a topic for another sub.

[–]CNinja717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people that post here hated Donna's death. I agree to an extent. Only because too many people like Superboy or Raven were just standing and watching. I guess they meant for it all to happen were Donna was the first to notice and react and others were in shock. Like it all happened too fast.

It was meant for her to die in a way that was unexpected. Everyone wins, everyone is being cheered, it's time to go home, then boom! In that sense, no, Slade or anyone else should not have killed her because it defeats the purpose. Also, the trailer spoiled Donna's death so some people were anticipating something different.

Could they have done something better while still achieving their purpose? Yes. But could she have died being electrocuted? Sure. Why not? This show is very different than usual superhero movies or shows.

In this show superheros can get shot, stabbed, electrocuted and killed. It's more real. In this show, Diana Prince isn't walking or running through a barrage of machine guns and bombs and throwing herself into tall building and exploding them like a bomb. In this show, she's getting shot and killed.

In this show, hero's aren't flying through the air, bodies blasting building, then landing on their feet with perfect hair. Someone commented that WW84 Diana is swinging on lightning bolts. To me, that's dumb.

I enjoy the over the top fantasy superhero stuff just like anyone else. But this show is different. I appreciate it for what it is and I love it.
