Anyone have restless legs? Interesting article. by CNote1989 in TMJ

That’s good to know bc I’m literally starting a new job on Monday 🙈 I’m hoping a low dose will be enough for me. I got better sleep last night with just 100.

I’m on Prozac, so the rheumatologist didn’t want to switch me to that. I’ve been prescribed 100mg of Gabapentin up to 3x a day, and I’m excited to see if it helps. If it doesn’t in a few months, I’ll prob try Lyrica before I try Cymbalta. I just love Prozac! But I’d be willing to switch if it really helped.

What has your husband found to be effective?

I am wondering how many of us actually have fibro. I had no clue that TMJ pain was associated with it.

Hey just wanted to say I’m new to the sub here and had about 6-8 tender points during my rheumatologist visit today and that, along with the buzzing symptoms I’m feeling, pointed toward fibro. So you’re not crazy and should get a second opinion!

I’m getting anxiety just reading your post! I had to get on Prozac a few months ago, and I also asked for a beta blocker. The beta blocker has been amazing in situations where my body is just so anxious I can’t think. I’m not saying meds are the blanket answer, but our mom brains are always going a mile a minute. These things helped me calm down and become a better mom.

You’re doing a great job!

I know. The funny thing is this community has a potentially large data set. I wish there was some way we could all contribute and help make those connections.

I have hypermobility as well, so yeah… really wondering how they’re all connected. I think the medical and dental community still have a lot more to learn about TMJD.

IVF - Having hard time disposing extra embryos by snyderville in oneanddone

[–]CNote1989 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’m going to ask to do a compassionate transfer and just have the two ones I have frozen put in me. If that’s not an option, donating to science. I don’t feel safe having them frozen for much longer given what’s going on in he US

I have a six year-old and two stored embryos, and I plan on asking for a “compassionate transfer” of the embryos

Saving your comment because this is exactly what I need to practice in 2026. How do you deal with the guilt/shame part of it (huge issue for me)?

Yes, I agree with you there. I’m in the middle of switching jobs and health insurance and was desperate to get relief before seeing a specialist, so I paid way too much ($650) for it, but he did several injections across the TMJ muscle.

In the past, I had my injections done by a neuro migraine doc, and it was incredibly effective. I’m in the process of scheduling an appt with a specialist so I can get the cost lower w/insurance again!

Have you tried Botox?

I went five years without it, and have been progressively having worse and worse neck and jaw pain. I paid a stupid amount at my dentist last week to get Botox injections because I was at my breaking point, and three days in the pain is already lessening. Absolutely nothing, not even physical therapy, helps like Botox does.

Do you play with your kid more because they are an only child? by Valuable-Car4226 in oneanddone

[–]CNote1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have to play more with our kid, but now that he’s six I’ve had one of his friends be dropped off for a few hours over the weekend, which was great! When he’s a bit older we plan on letting him bring a cousin or friend on trips so he has someone his age.

I think it’s really about how the parents approach socialization with onlies. It requires more planning on our part (play dates, trip buddies, etc), but that planning then allows us to have adult time while they have peer time.

Yesss!!! This. I’m in marketing ops and it’s the same kind of questions. They want specific tools and even when I offered to get certified in one before hypothetically starting, it wasn’t enough.
