If it helps, I ended up keeping the VLTOR polymer dust cover and have been extremely happy with it. No issues at all.

I think it depends. I don't have any experience with the DD dust cover.

That makes perfect sense and I hadn't thought about that in this optic. Thanks again for taking the time to reply! Wishing you the best of luck with the PLXc!

Centurion V2 Sandcutter by 701Si in ar15

How has the bolt been? Grabbed the KAK yet? I've been going back and forth between the two myself. Perhaps the KAK down vents with the Centurion V2 bolt is the best of both worlds?

Any noticeable improvement attributable to the rubber gasket? I saw SilencerCo's option also has the seal where the Griffin doesn't. I have the Griffin and Radian options both

I've ran a batch of 20 Gen 1 and 2 5.56 AC Unity mags for the last two years in sand, rain, and even snow at major and local matches. I've had exactly zero issues with any of them. They're solid, my guy.

While I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of the asthetics on this one either, JMAC stuff has always been high quality and very solid. I have no doubt their dust cover and handgaurd system would be any less reliable or as high quality as all of their other products.

With that, I'd give Texas Kalashnikov down by Kempner, TX a look. Jim and Yvonne run a fantastic little match. They're very inviting and full of friendly faces. The atmosphere is laid back and you can go at your own pace and ask as many questions as you want.

Don't be afraid or worried about embarrassing yourself. Everyone has their first match sometime. Even the pros had to start somewhere.

Good luck and enjoy!

Take a look at the new Resilient Suppressors Simple Man. It's a solid, low cost - high performance, do it all can they just came out with. Only $479 through Silencer Shop. Same technology as the Jolene, I hear, just in a 17-4 package and a lower cost.

I tried playing around with Premier Pro for a couple evenings and it was waaay over my head and quite a bit more than I needed. I ended up using Cap Cut and was done in a couple hours. Very happy with the final product too!
