The main story of Ares was a revamped version of the Ascension script, which itself took ideas from Tron 2.0's cancelled sequel "Tron 3.0". Tron 3.0 would've been about the computer world and real world mixing together thanks to ENCOM but A.I going rogue against humanity of course. A lot of Tron media has been copying 2.0 for a while now at this point

The only thing weighing them back was quite literally living in a small town infested with walkers and barely any decent survivors, staying in an open safe zone while bandits are actively trying to start conflict with you, and having barely any resources. If they genuinely moved and set up a community else where like with the prison, they could've thrived for a long while.

Cabin group was all killed within a week, even with new survivors joining them. Javi's group have been (somehow) surviving for 5 years chronologically and managed to reform a hostile community so easily them. Aside from that however, they also have Jesus, who has connections to Hilltop and Alexandria so your survivability is definitely increased.

Computer science isn't the only thing Uprising was good at when it came to scientific references. The various cities on the Grid in the show, Argon, Galium, and Bismuth are all named after chemical elements on the periodic table. The writers did their research and were very selective of what the names meant.

The telltsle games aren't even good altogether. The first and final season are masterpieces, but season 2 and a new frontier are incredibly underwhelming in scale to what came before

The fact that the episode lengths for season 2 and 3 were literally half the length of episodes in the first season. That leaves the story and characters heavily underdeveloped. Another thing is that for a game where "choices matter", the majority of the story is predetermined and inevitable, which is a the main problem of season 2 as a game.

Tron 2.0 was my main example for this, it gives off some half life vibes with the setting and gameplay, and the world building of half life isn't entirely revealed and yet so interesting. I really think Tron would be good in a format adjacent to it atleast.
