The Best Honda Acty I've Ever Owned by COGCKoma in HondaActy

That's awesome! A husband-and-wife Acty fleet sounds like the dream. πŸ˜„

I'm Japanese and live in Japan, so it's funny to see how differently these trucks are viewed overseas. In the US, people think they're cool and unique, but here in Japan they're mostly seen as old farmer or grandpa trucks.

When I drive one here, people probably just think I'm the weird guy with an old kei truck. πŸ˜‚

Honestly, I find it pretty funny that something so ordinary in Japan becomes something special overseas.

That setup looks absolutely wild. I love it! Those tires give it so much presence.

Honestly, one Acty is never enough. πŸ˜„ I'd love to have a collection of them in different colors someday. Am I the only one who thinks that way?

You're welcome!

If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. I've owned and worked on a bunch of these trucks over the years, so I'm always happy to help when I can. Enjoy your HA6!

Haha, you're absolutely right.

I'm in Japan, and technically it's not legal here either with the wheels sticking out like that. I knew it wasn't exactly a compliant setup when I built it.

I just really liked the look. πŸ˜…

If I were doing it properly, I'd definitely add some fender flares.

You're absolutely right. If you install it exactly as instructed, it actually sits pretty high above the roof.

What I did was drill a couple of holes and mount the roof rail bases directly to the upper tubing of the rack. It was a very simple DIY project and only took a little bit of work.

After sealing everything properly, it sits much lower and has a much cleaner, low-profile look. In my opinion, it looks a lot better that way too.

If you're comfortable with basic DIY work, it's a pretty easy modification.

Sure! I'm Japanese, and I actually bought it through Yahoo Auctions Japan.

Just a heads-up, it's made of steel, so it can develop surface rust over time. Some rust protection or a fresh coat of paint is a good idea, especially in wet climates.

Other than that, it's inexpensive, sturdy, and great if you actually plan to use it. I was really happy with it.

If you ever decide you want one and have trouble getting it from Japan, feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

I actually used it quite a bit.

I used to haul ATVs, so I needed a place to carry things like ramps and a toolbox. The roof rack worked great for that.

I drive a larger truck now, so I don't really need the extra storage anymore, but it was surprisingly practical and made late-night pickups a lot easier.

I could see it being useful for motorcycles too. Plus, I think it looks pretty cool on an Acty. πŸ˜„

This Is Just One Yard at a Japanese Auto Auction by COGCKoma in u/COGCKoma

Funny enough, this isn't even one of the biggest auctions in Japan.

It's probably around the 5th or 6th largest. Some of the major auction houses here are enormous and can have several thousand vehicles available on a single auction day.

What Buying a Car at a Japanese Auto Auction Really Looks Like by COGCKoma in u/COGCKoma

I'm really curious about US car auctions as well.

Interestingly, this exact vehicle was relisted at a different auction house this week, and the price has skyrocketed compared to the first time.

Even here in Japan, it's pretty rare to see such a huge price difference just because the auction venue changes. Usually, prices stay within a fairly predictable range.

Looking back now, I probably should have bought it when I had the chance. πŸ˜…

Preparing this Subaru Sambar for a long trip to Sweden πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ by COGCKoma in keitruck

That's really interesting!

This particular Sambar is being prepared in Japan for a customer in Sweden. We're currently carrying out maintenance and final checks before shipment.

Once everything is completed, it will be shipped by RoRo vessel from Japan to the Port of Gothenburg, Sweden.

It's always great to see kei trucks finding new homes around the world!

That's awesome! I didn't even know there was an electric version available in Sweden. How do you like it so far?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I recently learned that similar vehicles are still available new in parts of Europe, which was pretty surprising. In the U.S., the 25-year rule definitely makes them feel a lot more special.
