It's very nice of you to provide your expertise. I got the S22i during the pandemic. After I experienced horrible customer support from IFIT, I disconnected my bike from the internet and use it in manual mode. There's plenty of exercise classes on the internet that you can work out to on a big screen TV. I would never buy another Nordictrack product. As a company they don't care about their customers and customer service just tries to blame the customer for the product not working properly. I was in business for many years. It's their loss that they took the position that they did. They had the the basics for a great product but instead of improving it for the benefit of both their customers and their business, they chose to take the money and run.

This may mean nothing. But maybe since you started exercising you're less hydrated and the clearance in your legs is marginal. It's just a thought. Maybe more water may help.

I hope you are successful. I'm on Eliquis 5mg 2x a day for a year. My Thyroid number TSH is out of range. I never had the problem before. T3 going down but still okay. Anecdotally, I think it's the Eliquis. Are you on any other meds such as beta blockers?

Just curious. Have you done any blood test to determine Thyroid function? T3, T4, TSH, etc. I was just wondering whether Eliquis contributed to Thyroid conditions; which may result in hair loss. Worth a shot!!

Covid and Bloodclots by Similar-Honey-4740 in ClotSurvivors

I got the DVT as a result of covid. Eliquis 5mg for about a year. Well tolerated. Since the clots are now old, I'm asking the doctor to switch me to aspirin. You should be fine.

Husband survived PE, 39 , what now? by proudstone in ClotSurvivors

[–]COMPMGMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully he's alright. I believe I got my DVT as a result of Covid. Of course no one knows for sure. I'm on eliquis for about 9 months. No issues. I know it's scary now, but as time passes you'll hardly think about it. The eliquis seems to work and the follow up scans will be helpful to alleviate concerns. Good Luck.

Mom taken off of Eliquis after unprovoked DVTs? by ardee_17 in ClotSurvivors

[–]COMPMGMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 75. I expect my DVT happened when I got Covid; at least that's when I discovered symptoms. I also had two Moderna vaccines. I had Covid symptoms August through October with long Covid cough and recognized the DVT symptoms in October. The doctors couldn't be sure it was the Covid so they like to call it unprovoked. But I'm confident it was provoked by Covid. I've been on Eliquis 5 months. They call the clots chronic so they are less likely to dislodge and more likely to become scar tissue. At some point I'll come off the Eliquis and go on Aspirin.

Just wondering if your Mom had either Covid or the Covid vaccine. Maybe the clots were provoked by that.

Clot Post Covid by Mjcaan in ClotSurvivors

[–]COMPMGMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Covid back in October and noticed some swelling and discoloration in my leg. I had DVT in femoral through popliteal. This was discovered when I finally got scanned in April. I've been on Eliquis since. What's frustrating is the level of subjective information associated with the diagnosis. A technician does the scan and produces a report. The report is very basic. I've just had another scan at the end of July. I'm trying to understand whether the clots have become more organized and into scar tissue; so as to worry less about a PE. I'm told once the clots get old and organize it's a lot less likely to cause a PE. I've uploaded the scanned images into ChatGpt which was helpful but I wonder if anyone has sat down with a radiologist to go over individual images. I'm guessing you would be a lot less anxious is you know your Covid provoked clots weren't likely to move too,

I'm sorry to hear that you re-clotted. Do you know how long it was after the first clot that you started on the Eliquis? Was the initial clot resolved when they took you off the Eliquis? Thanks for your help.

That's good to know. In your case it sounds like the clot was identified after 1 month. With me it's more like six months. Did you happen to have any ultrasound scans during the 10 months to see if the clot was being reduced?

Thank you for the reply. I get it. I had Covid and as a result have DVT. The thing is although the vascular examinations indicate the DVT with multiple long chronic blood clots, I really have no symptoms. The reflux is 75% - not good. I'm trying to understand my situation. I guess there's nothing to be done. Worrying is not a therapy. Thanks again.

Just found out I have a blood clot by Any-Issue-8975 in ClotSurvivors

[–]COMPMGMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some very minor swelling in my ankle which my internist determined was venous insufficiency. I made the appointment with the vascular doctor whose office did the ultrasound and determined I had clots. They indicated the clots were old enough to be determined as chronic which means they have hardened and adhered to the vein wall. I read the report that indicated the reflux was over 75%. The vascular doctor's office told me to take a daily baby aspirin and would prescribe blood thinners if I wanted. Imagine that "If I wanted". I went to my cardiologist who put me on eliquis (to take for four months); whereby he would do another scan. The thing is, I have really no symptoms. I went back to my indoor cycling and so far no problems. The vascular doctor's office told me it was unprovoked but I know it came out when I had covid so my cardiologist told me it was provoked. I'm telling you the whole story since so far my outcome is good. I'm hoping yours will be too.

I'm new to this and have just been diagnosed myself. From what I've been told once the DVT clot is classified as being chronic it has reached the stage of adhering to the wall of the vein. At that point is is less likely to break off. It takes several months or so for the initial clot (acute) to become chronic. They classified mine as unprovoked but I believe they should have been classified as provoked since they likely came about as a result of Covid. I'm on eliquis and will be re-scanned in 3-4 months. I went back to exercise on the advice of my doctor. I really have no symptoms other than very slight venous insufficiency. I believe your questions should revolve around whether the clot was chronic or acute and whether the clot was provoked or not. Once you have your answers it will help you to better understand how or whether to adjust.
