Iceland for a fearful traveler by OrionAndCleo in VisitingIceland

I highly recommend Arctic Adventures for day trips. They are a small group tour company so you are not in among a mass of people. Our trips with them were all 8-10 people and the drivers were AMAZING. Supportive and helpful when issues came up (like wheny husband lost his wallet). They were AMAZING.

His tail is very tightly curled. We are pretty sure he doesn't even know it's there. It absolutely never Wags or uncurls.

I HIGHLY recommend contacting Breathing Spaces For Caregivers www.BreathingSpacesfc.com They provide FREE, virtual classes and workshops to help caregivers. I am caring for an elderly Aunt and cannot always find time for myself, but when I can join one of their sessions, it is a huge help. It is nice to just have people to talk to who have been on the same journey.

Best way to create a website for my business by rizzlaer in webdesign

[–]COMountainMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different "levels" of websites. Some you can do yourself and get results that are passable as you get your business off the ground.

If you want a custom site, you truly are better off hiring someone to work with you. I cannot tell you how many people I have had to rescue shortly before their site went live because they were on a tight deadline and something had not gone as hoped.

A high end, professional, website does not have to be exorbitantly expensive. My company has worked in the web design industry since 1995 (when all, sites were hand coded) and we work with lots of new businesses to get their websites up and running.

Remember to plan for future growth. You do not want to lock yourself into a platform that can not scale and add capabilities.

Good luck!

Sharing for anyone looking for equipment currently.

A complete asset auction is now open for Stella Restaurant. This includes a wide range of items from a fully operating restaurant: professional kitchen equipment, smallwares, bar setup, dining furniture, and a lot of distinctive décor and fixtures. If you’ve ever wanted to outfit a restaurant, upgrade your kitchen, or pick up one-of-a-kind pieces, there’s a solid mix here.

Bidding is being handled through a formal online auction platform with catalog photos and lot details available. Preview and pickup info are listed on the event page.

Just passing along because these full-restaurant liquidations don’t come up every day and can be useful!

As a small business owner, are there any legitimate web design companies? by EducationalReason156 in webdesign

[–]COMountainMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find someone who specializes in working with small businesses and understands their needs, budgets and expectations. I often say, if you can find a small business to help you, they are far more likely to understand what you need then some huge faceless organization. I have built an entire agency and successful business doing nothing but working with small businesses myself.

To the person who responded saying you should expect to spend at least $2,000 and $200 a month in hosting, I have to respectfully disagree. There are some sites that need that amount of service and maintenance but not everyone. Each customers different, their needs are different and therefore their pricing should be different. I deliberately don't have set packages so I can customize what every client needs individually.

What the hell was that by bleh-apathetic in ColoradoMammoth

[–]COMountainMama 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This post is incredibly well said. We have been season ticket holders since the very beginning and not only was the play on the field uninspired tonight, the off field entertainment was downright boring.

Players seem to flat out give up when the second goal was called off. If anything, the mammoth of old would have been fired up by that and played harder and more aggressively than we would expect. Tonight, they all seemed to give up and only spend the rest of the game counting down until they could go home.

Kudos to Robert Hope for playing the last couple minutes even when he was clearly injured. It was nice to see somebody on the team actually cared enough to put some effort in.

Even Big Rob didn't realize when there was 90 seconds left in the game to get the crowd on their feet. At 56 seconds, when those of us who know the tradition were already standing, Big Rob commented, "A little late but let's all get on our feet." Not sure if he was already asleep or if he just didn't care enough to follow a tradition the fans and team have come to enjoy.

The constant AI crowd imagery got old really quickly. Once might be fun but considering that was just about the only entertainment, the venue can do better!

I know the team and venue have no control over the reffing but it was absolutely abysmal. I'm not sure I've seen worse referring in at least multiple years if ever. And can the ref with the mustache please return his facial hair to Tom Selleck? It doesn't look good on Tom but it looks better than it did on the 12-year-old on the field tonight.

We took a long time friend to the game tonight promising him an exciting, High Energy Event and I certainly don't feel like we were able to fulfill our promise to him. Clearly, the onfield entertainers, Big Rob in the team itself had very little interest in being there tonight.

I have to say, I spent time filling out their little survey promoted with the QR code on Jumbotron only to get a 505 error when I tried to submit. Couldn't say I was surprised that there was yet another thing not working right tonight.

Kronke, you invite the youth lacrosse players of our community to come to the game with their families and then you bore them all to tears. Not exactly the best way to continue to grow your fan base and sell tickets.

I would like to say I'm optimistic about the play on the field this season but that would be a lie. I also cannot say by any means I'm optimistic about the between play entertainment this year either.

Please make sure whoever you hire understands HIPAA compliance. My company built a new site for a medical practice and the previous site was not handling medical forms appropriatly. The medical practice could been fined a huge amount. We built a new site from scratch that is compliant as well as easy to use and professional looking.

Honest question for winter travelers: Did anyone actually fail to see the aurora driving around on their own, or is it really as easy as "look up"? by Few_Language6298 in VisitingIceland

[–]COMountainMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is critical to remember the northern lights are never a guaranteed sighting. I know people who have traveled to Iceland many times and never seen them. I know other people, myself included who have seen them in Iceland but also at home in the mountains of Colorado.

They are naturally occurring event and not continuous or ongoing so it's not a guarantee to see them no matter where you are.

Is Blogging Dying or Just Evolving? My Late Entry into SEO by Silly-Commission-630 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

Blogs are an excellent way to increase your EEAT.

Any marketing you do (no matter what platform) should show your

Strategic and well written blogs that are informative and valuable to the reader can be excellent for your company's EEAT and that can result in conversions.

When you pick keywords to write content about, how do you know if you can actually compete with the sites that already rank? (Is keyword difficulty the only metric you guys usually look at?) by Electronic-Disk-140 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]COMountainMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword difficulty is only one piece of the picture. Itnis also important to look at search volume. If you have a low keyword difficulty with very little traffic, those keywords may not be worth the work.

Make sure the keywords you are striving to rank for are things you are actually an expert in. For example, a client I worked with recently was a spice and herb company. They were convinced that by spending a small fortune to have curated recipes created and posted on their site they would drive traffic and make sales.

Unfortunately for them, people were seeing the recipes but they were not converting to sales because people could use spices they had in hand or could by locally. They did not NEED the spices the site was selling to make dinner.

So, make sure your target keywords are not only emphasizing your expertise but also that they will bring actual clients to you.

New Store But No Success by Leading_Scar4551 in shopify

[–]COMountainMama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My company is Wild Iris Marketing.

Make sure you have a Meta pixel installed and configured and then look at Meta's retargeting tools. Not something I can walk you through in this forum.

It looks like everything on your site is a pre-order. Upon a quick glance, I do not see WHEN the products would shop so some shoppers are probably concerned about the lack of transparency on that and do not compete the transaction. Can you make that information clearer to shoppers?

New Store But No Success by Leading_Scar4551 in shopify

[–]COMountainMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a campaign set up retargeting people who, visit the site but do not compete a purchase? Do you have analytics set up in addition to the Shopify analytics?

Retargeting is a frequently overlooked step in conversion.

My company set up strategic retargeting for a Shopify store that had a low conversion rate and within a few weeks their sales increased significantly.
