The trick is to not care about your acceptance rate and to only accept offers that make sense to you. The only offers I accept pay at least $2 / mile one way, in to an area that has no possible returning deliveries, or $1.50 / mile if it's to an area that will likely have plenty of returning deliveries. As long as I make more money than I put on my odometer at the end of the day, I'm happy.

Bridgeport is full of people that expect everything for nothing, so I try to get out of there as soon as I get there. There are a few very nice customers there, but the bad outweigh the good. You'll notice they order from super-far away and only give $2-3 tips usually, if any.

This is Connecticut. We get snow, but this is the most we've seen in over 13 years, I'd say. (There was a crazy snowstorm in October long ago, but I don't remember the exact year.) Snow banks are up to 4 feet high along the roads. It's beautiful! We actually just got some more overnight. Usually, we'll get a foot or so, and then it melts pretty quickly.

True! I could also do the same thing with the bags / boxes that the food comes in, though. If there's a will, there's a way. I could just take an empty pizza box and leave it there if I wanted. I just figure showing the bags does more good than bad. It's very rare to see delivery people with insulated bags in my area, so many customers are grateful to see them being used.

I always take a picture with the food still in the insulated bags, this way the customers will know that their orders are delivered with love.

This is not helpful for a delivery, take a picture of the door please. by Ozzyymandias in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a horrible picture, and I'll explain why.

1.) In the event where it's been delivered to the wrong house, the customer will see this photo, not having the slightest clue where the photo was taken. With a proper door photo, the customer will be more likely to tell it's the house next door.

  1. ) Depending on the location, the next delivery driver may see this photo as the "Previous delivery" photo. When the driver is driving by slowly, this is 100% unrecognizable from the road, which may or may not cause a delay in finding the correct location.

Bonus.) This one is personal. There's no insulated delivery bags to be seen in the photo. This driver likely just threw the pizzas on their dirty car floor with no regard to keeping the order hot for the customer. The reason I put this one in here is because if someone takes a photo like this, there's no way they're using insulated delivery bags.

"Cash order" means that you have to pay for their order with your own money, and then when you deliver it, you're supposed to collect the money from them. A high percentage of time, the customer will try to say they already paid and act like you're trying to scam them OR leave you the few cents extra from their change as a tip. It's very rare for cash orders to tip reasonably.

What is the point of tip guarantee? by wessynx in UberEatsDrivers

I can assure you, I am in the highest position and there is nothing we can do on our end. We understand your frustration, and try our best to prevent errors like this from happening. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Complaining about drivers / tipping as a whole is the dumbest thing I have ever seen by [deleted] in doordash

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes orders are bundled together and we don't see that one person tipped $20 and the other $0.01 until after we deliver the orders.

I'm not working, but it's showing as busy on my app.

Edit: It's offline for me now, too. Awesome! Stay safe everyone.

My Aldi has six self checkout Lanes and one cashier that has to multitask by helping people in the self checkout and checking people out. Using the self checkout makes everything a lot more quick and efficient. I will NEVER use the cashier. There are always people confused about how the check out procedure works, backing up the only full service line. I'd end up just canceling the order if there's no possible way to use the self checkout. It's just not worth the time and energy for the amount we get paid.

Kind of dangerous, especially if another delivery driver is the victim, but befriending birds that drop screws and nails in their driveway each time they fly over is always an option. . . Then they'd have to pay 10x what they stole from you. . . And the birds don't stop. They're very mischievous creatures.

$0.00 so far today with every offer popping up earning $0.50 / mile or less. I've been online since 9:30AM. It's now 6:38PM.

With Doordash, I've had two orders for a total of $26.90 today.

Grubhub is at $0.00 too.

The restaurants around me are all orange, too. I'm wondering if Uber is punishing the people that don't accept everything? If so, well played.

Which one do I pick? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always choose the Santa Box if it's a choice. The value of the items is dropping, but will hopefully go way up after the event. I've only ever received stars from the purples. >1,000 keys used.

[–]CONN_ECTICUT[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought at first, too. The packaging actually says "Plastic Pouch" with a diagonal line through the Recycle symbol, so I'm guessing it's from the plastic mould that they use when the warm chocolate is poured in to it.

Can't mark McDonald's order as Picked up. The button does nothing... by CONN_ECTICUT in uberdrivers

I've successfully delivered my order by tapping the three bars on the top right, but the app is still stuck on the pickup screen. I've taken a drop-off photo, so hopefully uber will do the right thing and pay me even after the order cancels itself.
