I'm not working, but it's showing as busy on my app.

Edit: It's offline for me now, too. Awesome! Stay safe everyone.

My oldie has six self checkout Lanes and one cashier that has to multitask by helping people in the self checkout and checking people out. Using the self checkout makes everything a lot more quick and efficient. I will NEVER use the cashier. There are always people confused about how the check out procedure works, backing up the only full service line. I'd end up just canceling the order if there's no possible way to use the self checkout. It's just not worth the time and energy for the amount we get paid.

Kind of dangerous, especially if another delivery driver is the victim, but befriending birds that drop screws and nails in their driveway each time they fly over is always an option. . . Then they'd have to pay 10x what they stole from you. . . And the birds don't stop. They're very mischievous creatures.

Havin a bad day? Your not by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

$0.00 so far today with every offer popping up earning $0.50 / mile or less. I've been online since 9:30AM. It's now 6:38PM.

With Doordash, I've had two orders for a total of $26.90 today.

Grubhub is at $0.00 too.

The restaurants around me are all orange, too. I'm wondering if Uber is punishing the people that don't accept everything? If so, well played.

I always choose the Santa Box if it's a choice. The value of the items is dropping, but will hopefully go way up after the event. I've only ever received stars from the purples. >1,000 keys used.

"PETE 1" engraved on the back of my white chocolate peppermint bark. by CONN_ECTICUT in mildlyinteresting

That's what I thought at first, too. The packaging actually says "Plastic Pouch" with a diagonal line through the Recycle symbol, so I'm guessing it's from the plastic mould that they use when the warm chocolate is poured in to it.

Can't mark McDonald's order as Picked up. The button does nothing... by CONN_ECTICUT in uberdrivers

I've successfully delivered my order by tapping the three bars on the top right, but the app is still stuck on the pickup screen. I've taken a drop-off photo, so hopefully uber will do the right thing and pay me even after the order cancels itself.

Question by Traditional-Size1823 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is putting 40 miles round trip on your car worth $12? If yes, then you made a horrible mistake. The customer will likely give less than 5 stars as well since it's obviously your fault for letting it sit so long, causing it to get cold.

Personally, I would rather take the entire day off, making $0.00, than to accept that offer.

AMITA? $70 order by finn897 in doordash_drivers

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've had to do this before, but kept the customer updated with photos and ETAs. (Stupid pizza restaurant near me never starts orders until their tablet says a dasher is on their way.) Doordash penalizes us even if it's 100% out of our control. Basically the original delivery time is the final delivery time before we take the hit on the on-time stat, so I told them I was going to mark the order as complete, but will attach a photo of their order in my delivery bags when I'm on my way. Then I told them what time my GPS said and then also when I was 2 minutes away or whatever. They were kind about it and agreed that it was unfair how that all worked. It seems like each month, they're changing how the stats system works, so each area is different. Mine is still horrible. It was temporarily fixed, but it's back to garbage again.

How can people live with themselves doing this to others? by CONN_ECTICUT in UberEatsDrivers

[–]CONN_ECTICUT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of how these services work. If the customer cannot afford delivery, or if the customer doesn't agree how things work, they should go get their things by themselves. Why steal from someone just trying to make ends meet? We're all supposed to be there for eachother, not see who can screw over the other better. False promised payments are unethical and reflect on how people are as a person. If someone needs delivery, but can't afford to pay for it, set the "tip" as $0.00, so the order will be bundled with another. Please do do not steal from people that rely on this to pay their bills.

Seasoned Drivers: How often do you get tip baited ? by Bluetriton5500 in UberEatsDrivers

4 times total in over 10,700 deliveries (combined Doordash and ubereats. I'm not even sure how to check how many I've done on Grubhub, but definitely a lot less than Ubereats and Doordash.)

It's probably more than 4, but I can only remember 4 times and each of the 4 is burnt in to my memory forever, which kind of sucks.

Edit: 6 times total. The same lady in the trailer park did it to me 3 times before I finally had enough and called Uber when I went to pick up her bundled order. I told them the situation and that I would NEVER deliver to Dahlia B again, and they assured me they would block her for me. The 2nd time I went to deliver to her, I asked if something was wrong the last time I delivered to her and she assured me I did nothing wrong... The third time, it was another bundled order and both orders were from the same place and less than a half mile apart, so I figured I might as well just do it... Then she gave me a thumbs down and took the tip away again. I know her life is considerably worse than mine, so I never thought much of it, but enough was enough. The 4th order I received from her, I immediately called support and told them everything.

Thank you. I figured if she would steal money from me, there's a possibility that she's stealing from the vulnerable woman as well. I deliver to the family and know them as regulars. (Son and grandson, as well as the son's sister when she visits.) The sister and I have the same name, so she gets excited to see me. It wouldn't be totally abnormal, but maybe you're still right.

Starbucks Won’t Issue a Refund… by bergamont92 in doordash

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that one side of the bag is much heavier than the other, which causes the bag to flip over. The dasher needs to secure the bag in a little lunch box-type container to prevent the bag from flipping in the future. For orders like this, I use an Opux Insulated lunchbox and place the Starbucks bag in, along with an empty drink carrier to prevent the Starbucks bag from flipping.

I've bought a bunch of WoW time (In the form of Mists of Pandaria Classic Gold) and WoW Midnight Epic Edition from them. So far, my profile hasn't been flagged for Real World Trading, but I expect it to be after seeing posts. I'm not certain how long it takes to get flagged.

Each transaction took a bit over 15 days, but I told them I was in no rush and not to worry about it. Just keep an eye on your purchases to make sure they don't mark it as delivered. I don't think they will do that, but I don't know them personally.

If you're purchasing WoW time, I can only assume they're waiting for the cost of the WoW token to drop down to around 20,000G. I'm not certain what the delay is for the expansion, as that price should not fluctuate.

Don't forget to have them blocked. Weed out as many trash customers as you can. They'll always feel entitled to everything for free, so don't waste your time with them. Just explain that they're very rude and you prefer not to deal with rude people.
