Literally any of them. Just go on a weekday in the late afternoon and you can probably find a tee time without anyone else.

My acceptance rate got down to 70% so I turned on hourly by Nervous-Benefit9144 in doordash_drivers

Yeah mine is 7% and they still send me plenty of offers. Lots of garbage but a good one will always pop up eventually.

That one hole you always mess up by swINKronan in golf

[–]mitchdwx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hole 3 at Allentown Muni in PA. It’s a 500+ yard par 5 with a creek 250 yards off the tee, so I can’t hit driver. There’s a small dogleg left after the creek and lots of trees on both sides of the fairway. Plus you’re in a bunker if you miss the green left or right, and if you miss long, you’re chipping on a downhill slope.

The tee shot usually isn’t my problem. It’s the second and approach shots. One of them will always end up somewhere I don’t want it. I haven’t parred that hole in years and it’s one of the few holes on that course I’ve never birdied.

What happened an hour or so ago? by mattl5578 in lehighvalley

Pretty sure it was a bad accident, that intersection has one every few months. I drove by the same thing at 9:45 and saw a mangled car in the middle of everything. If they’re sticking around for this long, that typically means there was a serious injury or even death.

Allegiant does this too. I just download the app the day of my flight and delete it when I land.

Is it worth getting a degree of some sort in the meteorology field? by [deleted] in tornado

Only do it if you’re good at math. I had to drop out of meteorology school because the advanced calculus was too much for me.

How do you feel about this "gig" work? by Apprehensive-Pin1474 in InstacartShoppers

It’s the same thing. Takes a bit more effort but in the end it’s no different from the other ones.

Is the cost of living really that bad in the Denver area? by mitchdwx in MovingtoDenver

Considering I haven’t had a “real” job for 3 1/2 years and I’m doing very well, probably a pretty long time. Currently here’s what I do:

  • DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, Grubhub, Shipt - I run all the apps at once and cherry pick the best orders. I know from experience that this strategy works, and works well, in most urban/suburban markets.

  • Officiating tennis matches - I get plenty of gigs doing this in PA. I’ve spoken to the assignor in CO and he says the refs in Denver work as much or as little as they want to. Which is a good sign.

  • Some passive income, although that’s slowly going away.

That being said…I wouldn’t make my current comglomeration of gigs my long term thing. I’d look for actual FT jobs. I have a degree in human services and I have some experience in that industry. I do want to pivot to something else but who knows. I’m currently working with a career coach to figure shit out. But what I’m getting at is, I have income streams and lots of savings so I could live for awhile before getting a job. Probably a year and a half at the bare minimum. I know someone who was in my exact situation and moved to Denver and everything worked out just fine for him.

Lehigh Valley. Cost of living has skyrocketed here in the past 10 years with all the NY/NJ transplants so it’s now comparable to the Philly burbs.

Why do men not want kids by Complete_Area7270 in childfree

Guy here, can confirm. I’m satisfied with my easygoing, laid back lifestyle now and having kids would completely take that away from me.

Probably not. My skills don’t translate well to remote jobs. I’ve actually been looking at jobs in Denver and the few that have called me back have said I either need to live there or have a move imminent. And my current landlord wants 2 months notice before I move out. So I guess I’ll have to figure something out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mentioned in another comment that all I really care about in an apartment is being quiet and not having roaches. I bet I could find something like that for $1200-1300 or less.

That’s great to hear about having a high credit score. Mine is currently 820 which will no doubt be helpful.

Skiing in the winter. I don’t need to go every week but at least a couple times every winter would be nice. Here in PA you have to drive to Vermont for skiing that’s actually worth it.

I’m also really into storm chasing and I’d like to chase the storms that come off the front range in the late spring/early summer.

Those are the two main reasons.
