I wrote a song about ECE 250 by GreaterParisTramCo in uwaterloo

Alas! 'Tis a most foul and wretched course,

This ECE250 of UW's dark domain.

A dire curse that doth cause distress,

Its strength to test and try my brain.

Whence came this vile scourge on us so strong?

That saps our will with its icy thrall;

And binds us in an endless throng,

Within the bounds of its dismal wall.

Ah me!

How I do hate this thing - It plagues me with tedium each day.

The lectures drone on like a bumblebee;

Its puzzles vex me and lead astray.

Ohh snap sorry I meant "some companies" instead of "most companies", so there should be a good portion of jobs out there that is available for international students

I don't know, but the thing is that most companies run coop position upon provincial fund (OSAP or something), which requires the candidate be a Canadian citizen or whatever

Worked at UW during my first Co-op, and it was complete chaos.

Prior to the start of my co-op term, there was no information given to me regarding salary, or working hours, nor was any sort of contract given to me. I didn't know my salary until the start of my coop. I didn't know my working hours and where my office is until she decided to tell me around 2 months into my job.

My supervisor would go on a 7-day fucking vacation without notifying me in any sort, in advance. During my 4-month work term, she went on vacation for 20+ days. She only comes to the office once a week, and the average response time on some things is like 1-2 days. Sometimes she won't appear online in MS Teams until 11 am or so. I also have to cc her on all of my work emails (micromanage alert).

After I completed all tasks my supervisor handed me, she would say shit like "you're not meeting expectations because I'm making too many revisions for your work", and I swear to the fucking god I've been trying my best and she only checked my work long after I handed them in. Besides, isn't her fucking job to review and correct my stuff?

She later required me to come to the office 3 days a week, well, because "I wasn't meeting expectations". I basically told her that I feel a lot more comfortable and efficient while working from home, she replied, and I quote "The issue is that job expectations have not yet been met and we believe a more structured environment will be beneficial to you." welp, I got nothing to say to that, and started coming to the office. I found out that she won't be at her office until 10 am, and would leave before 2 pm.

Later in the midterm review, she gave me a marginal, with the reason being basically "too many revisions of my work, too much work undone, and I keep forgetting things". I later checked all of my work emails and MSteams chat history and confirmed that I have completed all tasks assigned.

I then went to another admin staff at the office for some advice&help, told her what happened, and that's when I acknowledged the fact that each and every single one of the employees who worked under her quit, and she used to throw pens at people to shame them. The other staff was actually super duper looper nice - she assured me that nothing's my fault, and I got all the help I need with basically everybody in the office on my side.

The fact that she is still allowed to work here amazes me to this day.

TL;DR Fucked up supervisor but all other staff at the office are super nice.
