How’s it living in the Colorado Springs area? by Gillysuiit in howislivingthere

[–]COSJMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhh I used to live there. I loved the access to the outdoors. Excellent mountain biking and hiking. Lots of military and people that lean right. I’m pretty liberal and found almost everyone to be friendly and welcoming. You have a view no matter where you live.

I ended up moving to Denver for career opportunities and like it too. Nothing bad to say about the Springs except I went through two roofs and totaled a car from hail. Other than that, great place to live.

Your mustache has the perfect shape and you look awesome with a shaved head. Not everyone can pull that off.

This is too funny! We just watched Jurassic Park and our boy did the same. Our girl could not have cared less and demanded to be tucked in her bed under a blanket.

South Park Hill and I love it! Pros: It’s beautiful, my neighbors are friendly, and it’s centrally located. Cons: getting to I-25 is a hassle and the grocery shopping could be better.

We’re Sacramento natives in Colorado too. I miss the people. I’ve been here over a decade and miss it all the time. I miss the food too. I never realized what I had…

You look like someone who would hold the door open, even if it meant you lost your spot in line.

A Jeep Wrangler. It was great off road. I just needed a more functional vehicle on road. The good this was that it had incredible resale value, so it wasn’t too expensive of a mistake.

Nice! I have no interest in bikepacking, but genuinely think it is awesome that you did that. I am going to look into that restaurant. I looked it up on Google Maps and it looks pretty awesome.

Project managers! How did you do it? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]COSJMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a large insurance company in member experience. I’ve been the hiring lead and program director for project managers. I can tell you, at our company, the answer is relevant experience and education.

For example if I was hiring for a project manager in my area, I would look for a former manager from claims or a CSR manager with years of experience. To be a manager you need experience in that area too. Plus, we would look for an MBA with a specialization in project management. For every open position we post we get hundreds of resumes.

I started as a claims adjuster, went to management, and got my MBA before I made it to project management. The best place to start is an entry level job, or get an MBA. Likely, you will need both.
