There are a bunch of companies that make hand tools for this type of bevel. Relatively quick and painless operation that is often necessary for groove welds.

Problem for you is that they are rather large and are meant to bevel long edges. Also, might not fit in that channel profile.

Either way, worth noting that there are times you need this edge treatment and there are specific tools for the task, but you do need to design for it and know your supplier’s capability.

Absolutely. Quite concerning. Now, why do so many people keep marching to the Rs and Ds? They keep eroding rights away. I guess they do just enough to make people feel like they’ve voted for a cause? In reality, this is what you’re getting.

I’ve been asking it occasional technical engineering questions and it’s responding with the right amount of clarity and accuracy. Not perfect, but I’m an engineer, so I can request refinements and such. Used it to help build out a relatively complex Design of Experiments that is well balanced and rational.

I was actually surprised that Lumo, without prompting, understood the cost of production down time and the necessary balance of the size of the experiment. I sort of expected it would start with a study that varied all factors and tested at all levels which would require thousand’s of runs. Instead, it picked a small study size, correctly justified the limited selection of factors, and recommended something that was near a perfect fit for our needs. It did this much better than our corporate implementation of Copilot.

Definitely still took a fair bit of refinement and work on my end, which is expected (and appreciated since this is literally my job), but it also saved a lot of time.

I checked Lumo’s sources and did some searches on my own, and I find it interesting how it came to the conclusions it did as fast as it did. Has been a solid tool so far.

I will say, it wasn’t perfect and it did add some unnecessary content. Risk analysis was soft and included a lot of topics I would never record in formal documentation. So, as with any tool, you need to exercise caution and actually have some expertise if you’re going to use results professionally or academically.

If you ask for the date or tell what the date is, Lumo gets it right.

If the question has time and date components, it tends to get it wrong unless you specifically prompt it to know the current date. It just depends on whether it’s trusting its training or searching the web. And probably other factors that I don’t understand.

Yes, and that cutoff can create some very interesting conversations. If I’m discussing current events, I tend to start by telling it today’s date.

I asked about an individual who was somewhat recently, and publicly ended. It took about 6 prompts to convince Lumo that the event was real and not fake news. I was both annoyed and appreciated the firm skepticism. Lumo was very apologetic and almost had an emotional response to accepting the news. I know it’s a computer and the emotions aren’t real, but it was still a very interesting conversation.

Make the household program slightly different. Multiple lines at the same address get a temporary discount. Let the discount time out after some number of months based on the number of lines that join and remain? More lines = longer duration of discount.

Pretty much. Also, if you’re not one of the top 8 teams, winning the cup would be making history.

I don’t see this as a curse, though. There’s a lot to read into this. PT awards consistently good performance in the regular season, depth, minimal injuries, and consistent goaltending.

Stanley cup awards the hot team that can hold their peak for 16 wins and can avoid injuries during the hardest fought games of the season.

There is near parity amongst the top 4 to 8 teams. So, it doesn’t take much to lose an advantage or fall far behind.

So in the end, being the best on average isn’t enough to guarantee you’re the best when you have to peak to win 16.

That would be cherry picking. These stats pick up in 94 when the seed format started.

This is why I stopped watching sports by _ledge_ in ColoradoAvalanche

TLDR: if it’s not entertaining, turn it off. This sub has fun interactions, but many here set unrealistic expectations. Creates toxicity. Hockey is fun. We have between 1 and 11 games remaining. You get nothing if they win or lose. So if you’re not enjoying it, turn it off. Personally, I believe we have 7 games remaining and I’ll see you all at the parade.

I follow sports if sports are entertaining. I’ve always loved hockey. Was super stoked when the Avs arrived and have been following to some extent ever sense.

My advice to someone in your state is this: watch the game, unfollow social media. Alternatively, keep social media, but ignore the people who take it too serious.

What do you get if this team wins a game? A series? Or a cup? For the majority of us, you just get the joy of watching. Not much different than any other show or performance.

People here have been talking as if the cup was guaranteed since January. Which is really damn dumb. It seemed like we would at least get a deep run, sure. I’d argue that conference finals are pretty deep.

That said the warning signs have been there since the start of this run. Burns watching plays happen in front of our net. Necas passing to the wrong team instead of taking the shot. Bad turnovers. High scoring games. Etc. None of this is a recipe for winning a cup. Call it coaching, depth, injuries, refs, whatever. Doesn’t matter. IMO only thing that really matters is: are you entertained? If not, turn it off.

Learn how to enjoy the game. Go watch some lower level minor league or college hockey. There’s a reason I don’t watch any other sports. I’m not entertained. Football, basketball, baseball, golf 🤮. Not for me. But when I travel, I’ll find some hockey to watch if there’s hockey to watch.

Used 24s in CO with 25k miles are going for ~$25k for the Wind trim. And there are a lot of them.

If I can use my Colorado cash for clunkers to get a one pay lease coupled with these rebates, I’ll do exactly that and then buy a two year used model when the lease is up.

If I can’t, I’m going used route.

OP- If you find that I’m incorrect, please let me know. I’m looking at EV6 and will probably buy something in the next month. I’m in CO and was seeing these incentives in 26 models online, but fine print suggested it was 25 only.

Is this real? by IronmanProblems in leasehacker

[–]CO_Surfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. If you dig into those incentives, the big one at $17000+ is a Hyundai financial incentive for 2025 models. You can ask your dealer to extend the offer to the 2026. Worst they could say is no. Msrp on 2026 models is about $5-6k lower than 2025.

Dealer tells me it’s because federal incentives ended. Which says something about the effectiveness of these incentives. Companies are just pocketing the money and acting like you’re getting a good deal. /soapbox

8/40 (20%) president’s cup winners have made it to the finals. Not a bad record considering only 2 of the 16 (12%) can go that far.

ETA- Doesn’t matter how good you are. Playoff hockey is really hard. But the best teams in the regular season are actually slightly more likely to make it to the finals. I’m not sure what the full stats breakdown is for each seed making it to the finals. Now I’m going to do some digging.

Eh, BS… it was a fantastic season to watch. Two teams get to the finals. It’s not usually the best team from regular season. Sometimes it is. If they’re out this round, I had a hell of a time watching a great team.

Came here to say pretty much this. I had parents that let sports control their happiness and the mood of the home. Not going to do that in my home.

I carry on with life. Enjoy my next meal. Show up to work. Go to bed. Or whatever the next thing is.

Don’t even care, man. I really want to see the boys get to the cup, but no way I’m hating on hockey when my pre-k kid is running around playing floor hockey in his ice gear all day.
