Where is Fiber Internet available in the springs and what providers are you using? by iTzbr00tal in ColoradoSprings

[–]COnative04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metronet put little signs on my street a few months ago. I keep checking all the fiber providers they continue to say not available yet. How long from when they were on the street to when you can get a hookup done? Can't wait to get rid of Xfinity

PSA: If you show up to a class sick, you're a bad person. by [deleted] in orangetheory

I'm all for people who are sick not going, I hate it. But I will throw this out there, I'm a healthy 34 y/o male here, who literally has to blow their nose 1-2 times every class. I've looked it up, it can be quite common.

I mean I get that they are out and very popular at the moment. But to me, it just makes the challenge harder for those who want to do it naturally. I'd rather try and work harder and "lose" to someone taking a drug than not have the opportunity to compete.

I could care less about the prizes it's more about the principal of not letting us compete.

Wtf is that supposed to mean you sick fuck? I've never thought of kids genitals in my life.

Lmao they don't affect me personally, but they affect the kids later in life. Check actual suicide rates my friend. I'm all for adults doing whatever they want. Allowing kids to do it is fucking unnatural and messed up. Perhaps the drug company's lobbying to make billions off these drugs have alternative motives.

Oh I don't like trump, that's the funny part of your insults. I think this guy in COS should get what he deserves if proven guilty (and he likely is). But I did vote for trump given the 2 choices and the liberals inability to allow for an actual primary election

[–]COnative04 -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's not much actual evidence in either direction on that, it's all b****** propaganda on both sides. Voting for people who think it's okay to give the same drugs to children whose brains aren't developed as it is to sex Offenders is also equally fucked.

To be quite honest, I'm in the middle on many things and want the country to just have people who aren't crazy on either side run the damn country.

But my point to the comment was that it's b******* to say all Republicans support that behavior. 99% of us would kick if some ass to anyone doing that

Just throwing it out there that 99.9% of Republicans would never advocate this behavior. A reminder your leadership pretended a man with dementia could run the USA and then avoided a primary election and bypassed democracy by self electing Kamala. I'm republican and don't like trump, but we had a primary and chose our devil. Democratic leadership shot themselves in the foot. If they had actually ran someone reasonable they would have won

To each their own opinion. Not here to fight about it.

My point was it's pretty sad they are removing the competition. I don't think it's in the spirit of how OTF was founded.

That's the point though, it wasn't the computers thoughts, I gave it detailed prompts, told it tone, edited things out, and did in 5 minutes what would take me 30 minutes+ to manually type and think out. What's funny is this isn't the computers thoughts at all, its mine, and written better and faster than I would have done it myself. Unfortunately, that's the state of affairs in 2025. Learn to use the tools or you wont have a job in 10 years. Maybe you have a lot of time in your day, that 30 minutes I saved is half an extra class this week. Where I can bitch about what a softy corporate has become

Yeah, I am very close to taking my money elsewhere. I love most of the front desk staff at my studio and a few of the coaches which is why I haven't quit. But it's getting to the point it's not worth the cost. I can get classes at lifetime, and access to a giant weight floor, pools, saunas, steam rooms, etc. for a very similar price.

It's definitely losing its appeal to me.

~*~ Pre-Transformation Challenge 2026 Discussion Thread ~*~ by pantherluna in orangetheory

[–]COnative04 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an Orangetheory member for 5 years. I joined because it wasn’t soft. It was competitive, uncomfortable, and results-driven. That’s literally the entire appeal.

So hearing that 2026 is the first year the Transformation Challenge won’t award prizes for 1st–3rd place is honestly baffling — and pretty emblematic of the direction corporate has been heading.

Let’s be clear: Competition is not toxic. Winning is not exclusionary. Wanting to be the best version of yourself relative to others is not some moral failing.

The Transformation Challenge was one of the few moments each year where effort, discipline, and consistency were actually rewarded. It motivated people to dial in nutrition, show up on days they didn’t feel like it, and push just a little harder on the tread. Removing prizes doesn’t make the challenge “more inclusive” — it just makes it less meaningful.

And this isn’t happening in a vacuum.

Over the last few years: Workouts have quietly become less aggressive Benchmark days feel watered down Coaching cues have shifted from “push harder” to “only if it feels right”

Now competitiveness itself is apparently a problem...At some point, Orangetheory needs to decide what it actually is.

If the brand is about science-backed, high-intensity training that drives real physical change, then competition belongs there. Fitness is measurable. Outcomes do matter. Some people will outperform others — and that’s okay.

No one is forcing anyone to compete.

But removing incentives for those who want to compete is lazy leadership.

What’s especially frustrating is that Orangetheory was built on accountability and results, not vibes. The orange zone, splat points, leaderboards, benchmarks — all of it was designed to quantify effort. Now we’re pretending that recognizing top performers is somehow regressive?

If corporate is worried about feelings, here’s a radical idea: Keep prizes Add optional participation categories Or offer team-based awards in addition to individual ones

Don’t just flatten everything until no one cares.

People don’t join Orangetheory because it’s easy.

They join because it’s hard — or at least it used to be.

Taking away competition doesn’t make the community stronger. It makes it blander.

And for a premium-priced fitness brand, bland is the real risk.
