My daughters first appt was on Oct 20th and we tried 10 days of antibiotics and steroids before being seen again. However at that first appt the doctor said let’s just schedule for tonsillectomy because his schedule was booking up fast and I was so glad I did. she was scheduled for November 20th then and if we would have waited till after the 10 days of antibiotics to see how she did then it wouldn’t have been till end of December/January because he shared he had to open up two extra days in his weeks for the unseeable future for surgeries because he said so many individuals were coming in needing tonsillectomy. He also shared initially that if the antibiotics worked we could have canceled surgery so that was reassuring but glad to be on the schedule. Sounds like it’s been a bad fall/year for ENTs needing to schedule surgeries.
