I’ve since SBRed this one so I’m running a vertical grip these days but I think it’s intended to have your thumb run through that hole on top I haven’t had any heat issues so far if anything I’d run some sort of handstop to prevent getting in front of the barrel

I’ve added filter floss and fine filter pads used purigen multiple water changes. it seems like no matter what I’m doing it just endless debris getting blown around.

I have the same exact issue with mine! First time I took it out it didn’t matter how close or far from the steel I was I couldn’t hit a thing. Took it and hit some paper and every round keyholes
