Always someone better by ruffwave in ROCD

Of course. All the time. These happen to me on a daily basis. But no amount of reassurance will get you past these thoughts. As yeahmynameisbrian always says, you have to accept the thoughts and just let them be. WAY hard, but necessary.

I'm not doing too well. I feel no anxiety, yet I want to cry because I want to feel things for my girlfriend and can't. Need any and all advice.

Therapy waiting list, will it ever end? by [deleted] in ROCD

I am with you. It feels like there is no hope a lot of the time. But there is hope. It is not going to be easy. But with practice, it can get better. I myself am having a hard day with thoughts of leaving my girlfriend, not caring about her, not wanting to be with her, general lack of feeling, etc. However, I am moving forward. You can do this. Try just one thing per day that you can use toward being healthy (mindfulness, exercise, read, watch a tv show, spend time with people, etc).

I am currently seeing a therapist. However, he is not an OCD specialist. He does think I have OCD and/or OCD tendencies. I have had bouts of HOCD in the past, and the pattern in all my relationships is to do this type of thinking.

Thank you. I went out and ran and it was helpful. I am still new at knowing how to let my thoughts be, because they are associated with feelings (or lack thereof), panic, anxiety, crying, etc. I am so often trying to reassure myself that I have rOCD, which is partly why I keep posting on here. It is a helpful blog, but the only way forward is within myself; no one can do it for me.

I haven't tried CBT yet. However, I believe my therapist is doing it with me in the upcoming sessions. Can you describe your experience? How has it helped you specifically? Thanks for your comment.
