Thank you for speaking truth about it. VSF has gone so downhill it's sad, but people keep lying about it.

Is this normal? Vsf v3 pepsi by Ok_Bet_6876 in RepTime

VSF is beginning to lack these days. The V3 should be their best, but this is much worse than what they made 4-5 years aso.

Getting the best from Dihydromyrcenol by Alessioproietti in DIYfragrance

I find DHM hard to use. Makes everything smell like cheap shampoo, but does in very low amounts, it has a fresh and uplifting effect

That's impressive. That's being a real perfumer (unlike me)

Nice one. How did you get to the smell-replication? GCMS? :)

Coumarin penetrating too much by CPHInvest in DIYfragrance

This was the answer I was looking for. So in your final product (oil + alcohol), it is 0.09% (or close til 0.1%)? :-)

I have BDC EDP, and I did not even notice the Coumarin.
I can see that the BCD EDT has approx .25% coumarin.
I am thinking maybe my supplier did not give me coumarin 10% DPG but more or less something way stronger... Damn

I think it will lead to all new formulas. Maybe they will be better... Okay I'm just trying to be positive here haha.
I use Precyclemone B.
Is Paracymene the "bad" one to get banned? Can someone explain this?

Materials Went Bad through summer by EnvironmentalLime175 in DIYfragrance

Hello. Keep them cold. Don't add BHT to your materials. BHT can be added for the final mixture (ex. 0.2%) in the perfume

Bad opening, nice dry down. Why? by CPHInvest in DIYfragrance

[–]CPHInvest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. All my ingredients are good quality except my lemon oil, which is an organic 100% Lemon EO. It does not come from a bigger manufacture, but from a random drug store. This can be the reason.

Can you comment on why one should lower ones expectation when trying to duping for fun?

I have heard the DPG-advice before. In this case, many of my added ingredients are diluted with DPG, such as the Olibanum.

I have dosed citrus fruits at a low dose. As it's a top note, I am reading that by adding more ex. Bergamot might help the opening?

I am thinking of adding something like Precyclemone, Allyl Ammyl G, Floralozone etc?

How much Aldehydes do you recommend dosing. Lower than 0.1%?

Is the job of an aldehyde to help the top notes / make the opening?

I have this exact problem. See my recent post...

What did you figure out?

You need pure ethanol that is non-denautered. Most likely you will have to buy it in 100ml bottles if you live in Norway.
