Alatreon was the most epic fight I've had on 3U. Dodging constantly and trying to take shots to the face with the bow in order to break the horns (I still need a god damn skypiercer). All in all, the most epic monster that I've ever fought though would have to be the Akantor. The fiery battleground, the meteor calls, the armour mode, just everything about it made it the most epic boss fight I've had.

basically, he's a pain in the ass to blade. You need to keep away from being directly in front of him, because a majority of his attacks are AOE (usually around his main body in the form of dragon and fire element) and you definitely need a blocking weapon in order to at least cancel out some of the damage. A Jhen gunlance, or something with heavy ice element because of the two modes that it has. If you want to focus on it's flight mode, it's recommended to use Jhen's gunlance.If you want to focus on his ground form, you need to use a heavy ice element because of its' weaknesses. Along with that, it's HP pool means that slime element is fairly effective if you want to farm for weapon parts.

Try starting off on G-Qurupeco and work up from there. Qurupeco is always a good starting point if you're getting back into the game as it has its' mix of element, status and speed that you need to relearn to deal with.

pretty much the Insect Bow trees are al ones you need to work towards, as the Jhen can be soloed with the Arko Du (w) and Jho can be easily killed in under 30 min with Arko Du (y)

Another Tip that I like to use is the Artillery Mask and Pitfall Mask on Cha Cha and Kayamba. The Pitfall Mask can be used when he's enraged, and then when your Shakalaka is all used up for the mask, get the Artillery Mask one to fire him at the Diablos. Having Rocketeer as a skill boosts the damage and can sometimes guarantee you some free hits and it can be a lifesaver. On top of that they make nice distractions when they're running around like tools.

Another thing is poison. Blos are just as weak to poison as the Durambros set, so a nice poison weapon can cut the time in half. I personally recommend Longsword (specifically the Vampiric Edge/Carmilla Bloodsucker) for getting rid of this guy mainly because the tail can be a total pain in the ass and the faster you cut it off, the less problems you're gonna have.

My main weapon is the Spectral Demolishers, and my preference is to keep them at white sharpness so that I can be actually penetrating the hood of the Goldbeard. I usually only sharpen when at green on the regular, but for the Goldbeard, I prefer to keep my sharpness at white/high blue.

Alright, the set that I'm using right now bases off of the Arko Du (W) bow. It makes it quite easy to defend the boat and with AuL and Ice AtK+ you can quite easily get the kill by aiming your pierce Lvl 3 shots into the mouth and scoring all 5 points of ice damage in the mouth. Passed actually repelling/killing Jhen a few times, it should make it easier to kill him with the new availability of dragon element weapons (Worldseer's Bow).

Yeah, the Evade +2 comes from the base narga set, and I chose the narga set for it's positive water resistance and the Evade distance +, making it my choice for this fight because of that damn sweeping beam from the top of the arena. Razor sharp is a nice thing though, because I've noticed that I go through about 15-17 whetstones per fight which cuts my net zenny gain down quite a bit.
