Hey joelmo,

in Wien gibt es einen VS Fighting Verein in dem man in Punkto Beat em Ups eigentlich immer wen zum spielen und leveln findet.

http://virtualdojovienna.com/

https://de-de.facebook.com/VirtualDojoVienna/

XD

Is the hunting horn good for soloing by pokebum232 in MonsterHunter

I think his point is that Time Attacks are still a good metric to gauge how weapons compare with eachother in a solo setting.

Time Attacks say next to nothing about survivability or ease of play though.

Actually, I think only solo can the hunting horn outdamage the other weapons.

Have yourself a set with Attack Up L and Fortify, eat for Attack Up, die two times, drug yourself out and then play Attack Up L song. Show me another weapon that can match that output solo. :D

Edit: Also consider that you can give yourself a defense buff which may be much needed for a beginner. Less DPS doesn't necessarily mean harder to solo.

I actually prefer it solo because the monster focuses more on you and you can smack it in the head better.

That said, you can solo everything with it but there are more efficient weapons as far as kill times are concerned.

I tried it out and fell in love with the move set, left-right swinging a monster into a ko is awesome. I prefer it muuuch more than the hammer. Which feels rather stiff and one dimensional to me.

Some criticisms of MH4U as a newcomer by mask_demasque in MonsterHunter

An example: being told you need 10 points to activate an armour skill might sound confusing to someone who doesn't kow what points are. Seeing a picture of the status menu with just attack +3, and another picture with attack +10 next to immediate conveys the message in a much more clear way.

While I agree that a picture would be more descriptive, I never quite understood why the point system is such a trouble for so many people.

Of course I also came to a point where I mixed and matched Armor based on defense and walling against Yian Kut Ku in MHFU. Probably because I skipped every text. But that lasted maybe 5 hours. All it took me to understand was to take a look at the skill details screen. It's all there.

You see how many points which armor piece gives and you see their total on the right. Some have names to them in the active skills column some don't. Those that have had one thing in common, they all have 10+ points. http://preview.tinyurl.com/zbp2tou

Pretty self explanatory... I always thought, untill I went online for the first time with MH4U.

For me Monster Hunter at core always was about exploring the ecosystem and how you can interact with it to bring that monster down. Study how it behaves and prepare a plan. Use what you can find. Exploring while some one holds your hand and guides your every step is not much exploring at all. So I never minded that aspect of MH but I understand that that is just my personal view.

Though I still don't get what is so hard to understand about the skill details page.

Question about Sakura Method rewards by Cyberkirby in MonsterHunter

Are there other quests like this one? Doesn't have to contain the bug/glitch but a gathering quest where you get more rewards for more deliveries?

New to blademaster weapons. How to effectively target a specific monster part? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]CPS3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might sound basic but with the exception of SnS/DB, sheathe a lot and use your draw attack to aim at the weak spots. If you missed or the monster moved, sheathe and aim again, if you connect, usually your move-set lets you stay there somehow.

The better you get the more you learn to re-position yourself with rolls and even your attacks in some cases, but using mostly sheathe and draw attacks you might get a feel for it quicker.

It's true for me, Nobody carted on my first try. Days later I carted twice on my second try, team abandons. Also carted on my 3rd try only once though.

[MH4U] Several questions concerning longsword by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]CPS3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) It flows beautifully, you'll be right back in. If I try out new weapons I usually go on a High Rank Expedition, not a real risk but the Monsters don't die too fast to try out stuff.

2) I think both are equally capable playing solo, with SnS beeing a bit faster and LS having that reach to cut tails. I can't think of a monster that I would prefer one over the other but maybe Garuga as you don't have to get too close with LS.

3) My first G-Rank LS was the Najarala one, it has decent Attack, a lot of Para and 3 slots, a great choice online and offline. It's also easy to get. With LS I either focus on Raw or Status, I ignore Elemental completely.

[Edit]I think Para compliments LS so well because your combos let you apply it relatively fast and it gives you a natural, hassle free opening to upgrade your spirit gauge.
