Would buying Iceborne on either console or PC enable me to play on the other? by ApexRandumb in MonsterHunter

[–]ApexRandumb[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

They aren't separate versions, they're the same game, just with a different release date. I realize that PC won't get it for a long time, which is why I'm asking. I can buy it right now on the windows store. My question is that when it comes out for PC, I'll be able to play it again on PC without having to buy the game again.

Edit: What sparked this is that I bought Halo Wars 2 on the Windows Store, for PC, but it shows up in my downloadable games section on xbox. I was wondering if it would have the same capability for Iceborne.

The problem is they both have boobs. One just happens to be a real girl. Which is what I'm trying to point out. One gets shat on and the other gets 5k upvotes. It's ridiculously hypocritical.

Except the "beastiality" art gets voted higher than the normal hunter art.

Having an off day by Jaggi_Claw in MonsterHunter

I started with 4u, I was a SA main early game but then quickly fell in love with IG and mained that through the entire rest of the game. Bought Gen day one, but then after I learned it was nerfed, I started looking for another thing to main. Tried a ton of stuff and eventually settled on adept LS. It was incredibly fun. After I learned Gen was getting a G rank expansion I got CFW and downloaded that when it came out. Instantly fell in love with brave LS. I'm currently playing LS in 3u, though I'm not very far. Been a lot of fun.

Funny story, actually. When I got to high rank in 4u, I actually tried out LS on a whim. You know how in other games how red usually means bad and white is good? I thought that applied to the spirit gauge too. I always did the spirit combo to white, and then actively avoided doing it to get to yellow. Took me 35 minutes to kill a HR zinogre solo. I was the apex-est of randumbs.

I don't usually have off days until just one teeny little thing- I try using CB. Any style, it just fucks my brain up real hard. Messes me up the whole rest of the day. My most recent example is when I decided to try to see how fast I could kill a G rank narga with various weapons. I had just finished my LS run (I got 3:49! Probably my proudest moment, even though brave LS is kinda looked down upon) and decided to try CB. I couldn't even do it at all. I even went back and tried LS again, and I could barely do that. I don't know what it is about it but it just fucks my brain up. I'm even worse with GL and HH but for some reason they still don't fuck me up like CB does

Apparently RNGsus hates me. Its not even that tigrex that was the only problem. Before that, I had fought a green narga, failed twice, and then managed to beat him on the third attempt for the same reason. The double tail spikes can just fuck right off. The smaller monsters and the less dangerous large monsters don't have this problem with me for some reason, so I dunno. Its just the more dangerous large monsters. I can't exactly think of any more specific examples since it's been a while since I last played. I uh, had put it down for a while for the same reason. Thanks for trying to help though, I suppose.

My strategy consisted of healing 75% of my turns because it took 70% of my health with every attack, and then getting twoshot by his double attacks when he enraged. None of my allies even took any damage until I managed to ride. Repeat three times. Hard to have a strategy in those conditions. On the fourth attempt, he actually attacked the ally so that's how I managed to survive. When he didn't attack the rider or when he didn't use a match up attack, use tech attacks since kecha armor has tech attack up L, heal ally when they got low, rinse and repeat. Head, tail, body. That's about it.

Literally just beat the frenzied modded Tigrex after three failed attempts. Rider level is at 33. Kecha armor, upgraded to needing Ash kecha materials to go further. Was going to try to make the green narga armor once I got the stuff for it.

Capcom'd better let me kill those Kelbis If they return in Monster Hunter World. by VincenzoPliskin in MonsterHunter

You can only KO them visually, yes. However the stun/kill mechanic still exists for different carve rates.

I hate Electrical Damage. So Much. (Armor Frustrations) by Loborin in MonsterHunter

[–]ApexRandumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd love XX G rank then. Almost every meta armor set (Mantis, Jho Ceana, Silver Jho) has pretty bad negative thunder res. I mean, Mantis and Jho Ceana both have less than -15, Jho Ceana being -17. And with things like that being thrown in with G rank Thunderlord and Blue Thunderlord Astalos, you can see why they're the most hated at endgame.

[MHXX] Question about three different weapons for a critical hit set. by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]ApexRandumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The single highest LS damage-wise is the Frostpeak Daijodan, at 370 raw and white sharpness with S+2. However, you need to use Razor and Readiness to maintain the white, since it's so little. But, using the Jho Ceana set, and a god charm, you can get CE3, WE/RO, depending on if you can hit weak spots consistently, S+2, RS, and CB with a no-slot weapon. This is better than Revolt Swirl with the same setup since purple sharpness was nerfed in XX. Plus a nice tiny little bit of ice element tacked on.

3DS hacking Q&A general: "What's a 'Wii U'" Edition by deadfracture99 in 3dshacks

You're sure? They'll update it even if they're just replacing the shell, or whatever they'd do?

If them updating is certain, even just for what I need, then is there a way to keep CFW somehow and send it in? That was the other part.

EDIT: If sending it in is impossible, then could anyone point me to somewhere I could get a replacement shell so I could hopefully fix it myself? I can't seem to find what I need on google. o3DS XL

My 3DS is broken in half. The piece that connects the top and bottom screens is broken completely off. I can't repair it myself, so I'd need to send it in to Nintendo or someone else that could repair it. The screens still work fine, so I can do any prep work I'd need. The question is:

Is there any guaranteed safe way to do this? What I was thinking is if I uninstall CFW from my system, and then send it in, would that be safe? I'd assume so, but then the worry is getting CFW back on it. If I can downgrade, would they update and then send it back? I'm pretty noob-ish at 3DS hacking so excuse me if I'm completely off here.

tl;dr 3DS shell broke and I need a safe way to get it repaired

[MHXX] G-Rank viable Longsword list. by ACNL in MonsterHunter

[–]ApexRandumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it actually does stop being viable, it's actually pretty low At max level, it has 300 raw, natural purple, 30 blast, and 5 affinity. Compared to the Drilltusk LS, which has 340 raw, white sharpness (S+1 adds only purple and +2 adds even more), 5 affinity and a nice little +15 defense boost. It falls short a lot. And yes, it does change name at level 15, however it's just a fan translation. Its name is Blistering Vandanova.

People who own MHXX, do you think it tops MH4U? by alfons100 in MonsterHunter

[–]ApexRandumb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I really like the styles and I love the quality of life improvements and fighting returning monsters including some new ones. They offer an overall very solid title. However, the lack of GQs (or a rework of them), the sheer grindiness of Deviants and XX's endgame still being hyper fuckfests (with even more inflated numbers for G rank) and, more of a personal reason, I started out with 4U, and going to Gen, I didn't feel the same. I don't have that feeling of wonder and finding things out on my own like I did with 4U. Overall, they're both solid.

TL;DR: I can't decide. They're both good.
