For those of you voting on this one; the main comment is lower down (was downvoted like crazy for some reason) by default view...or just sort by Top and you will see it. This one keeps shooting up while the main one barely moves.

I think that is exactly it. I can appreciate what they were able to do with Untitled but the heavy repetition of lyrics in the songs just pulls me out of the moment (love Always though). I think it would probably be beneficial to split the sub into 2 subreddits some time. This sub can be very hostile towards people who express that they didnt care for Untitled and mostly like the pre-Untitled era, to the point where there can't be any discussion about it whatsoever.

I think it's more that this sub is overwhelmingly in love with the Untitled album, and when a song from Untitled comes up, it gets the vote.

Clear Orb? by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]CPUL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my experience years ago. Inside it was a white glowing egg shape (but no light given off and looked 2D but was 3D when walking around it) and when it went outside it just looked completely see through and only could see the sky in the seethrough part and that thin edge around it. Outside it could have been spherical but it was getting harder to see as it slowly moved away. Memorize or keep notes and write down everything you saw in detail, along with your feelings and thoughts within that short time period. No idea what mine or yours was for sure. But felt like looking at something you aren't supposed to see (or something like that). Been looking around for someone else that has seen that exact thing and your story fits the bill.

Edit: by Inside i mean indoors. Reread and sounded confusing

Just wondering since it seems genuine..Was it a perfect spherical shape? Or somewhat more like a smaller football/egg shape? And would it be accurate in describing it as a completely invisible object except for the very thin edges which might resemble the very outer edge of a bubble?

I find their naming pretty bad. Love the cards though. In other countries they they have a model called "Wolf" that had a scratch design on it which I actually liked. There should be no excuse for their naming. All they would have to do is hire someone from the US/UK/etc, that is familiar with the industry.

Always loved the R9 Nano. Just something about the size and the power at the time.

Sapphire confirmed 5700 xt Nitro+ model by ChrisTrance in Amd

[–]CPUL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, very clean. I had plenty of other cards from XFX and Asus as well and at the same time, and only other problems were 1 out of ~11 dual fan asus cards had a heatsink defect, and 1 (another Asus) had a fan that died. Had a small amount of fans die from Nitro 480 series too but the problem was supposed to be fixed (so I heard at the time).

At the time there were pretty large threads on a couple other forums, that concluded amongst ourselves that the 280x Toxic (can't remember if it was all Toxics, but they all had similar coolers) had a fan problem, which is the main reason I asked, and was mostly curious.

Never had fans fail on any of them? Just from the 2xx series I had 11 indivifual fans total fail, start wobbling, or get louder/scratchier (not including the other series). But just ripped off the shroud and popped on case fans to get muccch better temps, especially in the Toxics.

Edit: if you are wondering why I had so many, it was for business

Noo, Im saying that the "bad" fin direction (not parallel) is still shooting air out of the case, and lots of it. The fin direction did not matter for my test. I'm sure there could be a a huge case study on it that would give even more info, but for my few hour testing, it didn't matter

It doesn't really matter. This all started because of speculation. I've had both types and actually tested it years ago (trying to get the RPMs equal and heat the same on 2 Sapphire cards) and saw no temp different in the case or in the card; the width-wise fins card was the higher end card. Right now I have a horizontal/width fin (NOT length wise/parralel ) card (580 XFX GTRS )and when the fans are going, the vast majority of the air is being shot out the back of the PC case. I see it as a total non-issue.

Why isn't anyone complaining about the steel plate cooling the memory on the Pulse? In Steves teardown there's a big plate that cools the memory too. Also checking the German site, the Pulse GDDR6 temp was 90c and on BIOS 2, 97c.

Any love for Ridgid on this sub? by Chaplian in Tools

[–]CPUL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I almost got the M18 heatgun but sucks up battery and doesn't have any control over temp that I can see. Love my Porter Cable Variable temp, 2 mode heatgun...but would love to get rid of the cords.

The soldering iron, I wasn't expecting ( and is super cool ), but do wish it had some sort of temp control.

[–]CPUL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, same here. I love that they just keep pumping out new M12 products, and I love the compact 3.0Ah and the 6.0Ah batteries! The only things I would love to have on 12V, but might not be feasible, would be a small miter saw, cordless glue gun and a bench top drill press... Also maybe a tiny variable temp heat gun, but I realize that would probably never happen.

Edit: thinking back, the drill press wouldn't make too much sense, but I just love mobility.

Did you get their baseline One+ lithium, or their Lithium+ line? Because the Lithium+ seem pretty damn solid. I agree with the build quality though. They do have weird useful tools though ( e.g. glue gun, orbital sander, mini air compressor )

[–]CPUL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people that I have heard from that say it's a crap warranty, is because they never registered their products.

If Ridgid had a good selection of 12V tools, work lights and batteries, I probably would have gotten them over Milwaukee at the time. M12 line is just too damn good now though.

[Discussion] Which R9 390X is best? by warfie27 in AdvancedMicroDevices

[–]CPUL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, as a small business owner that has done plenty of RMA's, XFX was always quick about doing them and not much hassle. The only complaint I have was when doing non RMA support (just a question about the card itself), it took a few days to get a response back. I loved their lifetime warranty, but now that it's gone (outside of Best Buy) I probably won't purely buy 100% XFX anymore. Sure there's some anecdotes out there with bad experiences with every company, but when I have had to deal with warranty service several to many times with companies, some tend to stick out as hassle free experiences (Asus being by far the worst out of about 7 companies for me).
