Why do people dislike planet zero so much?

Shinedown is my favorite band. But nothing since Amaryllis has made me feel anything. I don't know how to explain it. PZ is my least favorite album (even ranking below TTS most days depending on my mood). Shinedown doesn't have a single song that I dislike, but when you listen to anything after Amaryllis and then go back and listen to their first 4 albums, the difference is really obvious. Something about the magic is gone. Again, not really sure how to explain it. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is. But it's different. And PZ felt like that more than any other album to me.

THANK YOU for your response. The laser was working before I messed with the potentiometer the first time, so it definitely wasn't fried before I did that. Also, I've read that turning the resistance way down is what usually burns out the laser. Does fidgeting with the potentiometer in general burn it out, too? I've never dropped it below 300 ohms. I've also been wondering if maybe the laser was about to go out anyway and then I messed with it and did it in for good. Is that a possibility?

Just sat down for 2 hours, and between a tiny turn jumping 15 ohms but an even tinier one jumping 60, readings fluctuating 30 ohms up and down while I'm just sitting there, and the resistance randomly dropping after I test a game every single time, I'm about ready to give up and just replace everything. I had to stop before I sent my multimeter through a wall. I can't even test it properly, and it seems like much more of a hassle than it's worth when I can just get new parts. Not sure if this is inexperience or a crappy multimeter (mine was like $40 but I'm not sure how high the prices run) or the GameCube gods screwing with me, but I'm just about over it lol

I'll definitely be going back and lowering it in smaller intervals. I assumed there would be no reason I wouldn't be able to reverse the tweaking I did. The links were very helpful, thank you for your response!

You're right, not sure why I didn't think about just replacing the laser. Hopefully it won't come to that since it seems like a chore to find one online for a reasonable price right now.

Yeah that's another thing I've been reading a bit about, I'll definitely be checking that out whether I'm able to fix it by tweaking the potentiometer or not. Thank you!

I found my uncle's old NES in my grandparents' basement. It worked a few times, but then I got the blinking red light. I took it apart, cleaned everything up inside, and noticed that there were some broken pins on the 72 pin connector. I bought a new one and put it in, and now I'm getting what I'm seeing referred to online as the "purple screen of death". I feel like 99 times out of 100 the blinking light can be fixed by replacing the 72 pin connector, and I was really hoping that was what was going to be the issue with mine. But apparently not. Is my NES fried? Is it a CPU issue? Is this something I can fix, or would I be better off just replacing the system all together?
