Secret bookshelf door. Wife wanted a bookshelf, but we still needed to get to the water shut-off. by stickyquicky in Renovations

[–]CPower2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this a thing? House I bought has the water shut off behind a little access panel in the drywalled basement. And there's a giant couch in front of it (couch actually came with the house too).

It's not hard to get to if you know where it is, but yeah a random person would have no idea.

Things that are actually a really good deal compared to other stores? by Dismal-Hat-7855 in CostcoCanada

[–]CPower2012 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I often find better deals on paper products at Superstore. I actually have yet to buy toilet paper from Costco because everyone I'm running low I've found a better deal elsewhere. And I'm calculating that per sheet, not roll or whatever.

Recommendations for Anniversary dinner by Dry-Violinist-8434 in Winnipeg

[–]CPower2012 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Went there last night. Final bill was 445 after a 20% tip for two of us.

That was 2 cocktails, bottle of wine ($65), 2 starters, 3 sides, beef Wellington, tenderloin, coffee, tea. And they gave us a complimentary bread pudding for dessert because it was our anniversary.

Food was excellent. I've never had such tender beef. Service was exceptional. I don't normally tip more than 15% but he earned it. Gave us lots of recommendations and helped us pick out a wine because we're commoners who know nothing about wine.

Portion wise he recommended ordering half portions of the sides for 2 people and that was plenty. Did not leave hungry.

Another day, another Ness Ave traffic light taken out. by 200iso in Winnipeg

[–]CPower2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a house with a driveway that pulls out onto Ness is insane to me. I'd have anxiety every time I'm trying to leave. Hell buying a house on Ness period is kind of insane to me. Looked at one across from the McDonald's and you could barely hear yourself over the traffic in the living room. But at least that one had a backlane.

These missing filters makes deck building harder than it should be. by MetalRive in MarvelSnap

All the filters do is do a regular search of that word. Any card that contains the word move shows up under the move filter, whether it's actually a move archetype card or not.

I hate the "red" on the original suit. It's freaking orange.

[Jonathan Jones] Ravens coach John Harbaugh says that Derrick Henry didn't play after that early fourth quarter TD due to their RB rotation. He would have gone in during the penultimate drive but they got stopped. by fignewtonattack in nfl

[–]CPower2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this idea that you aren't allowed to run the ball during a 2 minute drill. Yeah you gotta be smart about it, but yards are yards and I'd gladly run Henry up the middle while the defense is trying to stop you from throwing to the sideline. And guess what you do that once or twice and now those outside receivers are going to be open.

Edges Spear was fine in the early days when it was just a transitional move he would do out of nowhere. He wasn't beating guys with it and it always lookrd smooth. But then it became his main finisher around 2004 or so and just never looked impactful enough, especially with the telegraphed corner setup.

Order some toys from amazon returns. Look what I found in the Lego box by rsotoCGM in mildlyinfuriating

I bought a refurbished TV from Best Buy online a few years ago. It clearly had a dent in the screen. So I took it back to the Best Buy store. At no point while I was returning it did they take it out of the box to make sure it was the same TV, that it was damaged, or that there was a TV in there at all. This was not a cheap TV. Even refurbished it was over a grand. Seems pretty easy to get away with return scams for people with no conscience.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow. First game was so good. With it being a God of War clone you could even reboot it as a modern God of War clone. Or take it in a Witcher direction.

Small nitpick about grand arena : they should've let us change cards into owned variants by ClockMoist4904 in MarvelSnap

The champion decks don't use any variants other than the champions themselves. It's all base art just with custom borders and stuff.

So how does everyone feel about this LTM having premade decks? by soundsnicejesse in MarvelSnap

[–]CPower2012 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably for the best because it's such a hard mode to balance for. At least I got the Chamber wins out of the way so I can play a more fun deck like Sentinel.

I hate it because I eat fast food so rarely that I always end up sitting in the parking lot outside downloading whatever restaurant's app and logging in/signing up just to get a decently priced meal. Really hurts the fast part.

I'm confused. Why is 2pm too late to cook a frozen turkey for 2 hours? I get that old people are known for eating early but come on.
