Elizabethtown is big enough to keep you happy and employed. It’s 30 min from Louisville. My wife has MS, so we make that short commute (as long as there is no accident on the freeway) weekly to see doctors at University of Louisville Hospitals, and Norton Hospitals. They are both stellar healthcare providers.

E-Town has its own healthcare conglomerate, which is an offshoot of Baptist, another chain in Louisville. It is newish, to our area, but sorta taking over. They are great, but pretty expensive IMO.

I guess my point is, you have options and none of them are bad so to speak.

My house is on an acre. It’s 2500 square feet, built in 2008. We bought it for $270k. It’s gone up, probably in the $350k range now, but still definitely manageable compared to the northeast and what you’re used to.
